Today’s Brent Crude Futures price!

Is the sky falling, Chicken Little?

YOU don't have any foresight. You don't see how oil prices (later this year) will be even cheaper than they were a few weeks ago.
For much of the country, it seems as if the sky is falling. And you have no proof of your suggestion. You are hoping the water level will fall before you drown.

Fake news. The Strait is not blocked, anchovies.
Cost of oil, duh, try to keep up if you are going to post, then again, you don’t
The price of oil is down. Source: NYMEX
They are not, (https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-ea...g-more-oil-today-than-before-the-war-ede3cd91), in fact, Iran is shipping more oil than they did before the war, all to China
Paradox. Irrational. You cannot argue both sides of a paradox, anchovies.
As I noted, you don’t post
I post quite a lot, anchovies...including this one.

That's part of why polls are largely meaningless. Any little change in the way that a question is asked will affect the results.

If "the war" (the military operation) would only last for days/weeks, then the vast majority of people support it. If it would last for months, then it's closer to 50/50. If it would last for years, then the vast majority of people oppose it.

That actually tracks with my own mind. I'm okay with a quick military operation (days/weeks). I'm not okay with "forever wars" (years).

This would be closer to the truth if "the war" were to last for years instead of weeks.
Trump is working to END the 'Forever War" that Iran has been pursuing.,,and he's succeeding!

Oh, so it hasn't occurred to your stunted little midget brain that this might be just the beginning?
The beginning of what, Sybil?
I'm not surprised because you low-educated MAGAturds have never had much in the way of foresight or common sense, etc.
MAGA is not a person, Sybil.
Go outside and look, MAGAturd.
MAGA is not a person, Sybil.
It could be falling on your head sooner than you think....

Wha? Rain? I live in the PNW, Sybil. It rains here a lot.

Has stopped thru the Strait of Hormuz, which accounts for over 20% of the world’s oil, that is devastating by any measure, and sure, there are other points of access, but the overall cost of oil rises proportionately, which rocks the world’s economy
Ships are still passing through the Strait of Hormuz, anchovies.
So you are saying it is a prolonged war, that in the end Iran only has “a collection of cockleshells and hobbled together nonsense” and it won’t do the trick, but it is working now, effectively
What war?

Because now he is out now after the fact trying to convince everyone it will only be a “brief increase,” trying once again sell his overall agenda
After what fact, anchovies? Increase of what? What 'agenda' are you talking about?
What is the “long term?” That is the point of the thread, who knows what the “long term” is, TruLonmp seemingly daily is redefining his “long term”
Long term of what, anchovies?

No, we haven't "won." Nor has Iran lost. Iran just is in no position to make much of an offensive effort and the outcome largely lies with how determined Trump is to win as well as how much tolerance the US public has for this war. Right now, outside Democrats and the Left I'd say it's somewhere between support and indifference. Only Democrats and the Left are set against it.
I deleted my previous response.

It was based on anger.

I reread this, its kind of just a statement of things.

Which is why oil shipped to Europe does not use supertankers.
A lot of the oil shipped from the Persian Gulf to Europe uses supertankers. Many of the Suezmax ships only fit in the Suez when they are empty(on the return trip), and so have to go around the Cape with their oil. Even those that can fit through the Suez when full can easily go around the Cape.

Has the oil stopped? No. It is being rerouted via pipelines to other destinations.
Saudi Arabia doesn't use the Strait of Hormuz, Wally.
The East-West Pipeline has a capacity of 5 million barrels a day, though it is doubtful it could ever meet that capacity. That means the majority of Saudi oil must go through the Strait of Hormuz. The Jordanian Pipeline might be able to handle another million barrels, but that leaves about 20 million barrels that must flow through the Strait of Hormuz.

And those pipelines are easy to hit with drones. They would be repairable in a few days, but then could be knocked out again. It could be a real mess.

Opening Venezuela's oil back on the market
Just as a reminder, the thugs in Venezuela oppressing the people are out in force, and now you are talking about getting them more money to oppress the people?
