Those damn fascist Conservatives..!!

Fascism is less about drug policy and more about the degree to which big business and government conspire against individuals and small businesses.

Ive always maintained if the case for the legalization of marijuana ever got to the Supreme Court... it would be legalized on the grounds of an Individual Civil Liberties and the freedom to make a choice. Talk about a Pro Choice Issue! Personally, I dont like the stuff...it doesnt agree with my body chemistry.. but I'll fight for the rights of others to use it. I'll sit down with somebody and enjoy a glass of Wine or a Cocktail while they smoke a joint ... no difference to me. As Ol Blue Eyes once sang.. Thats Life

Gonzalez v. Raich already finalized this issue. The USSC will not be declaring a congressional limit on it's power to regulate marijuana

Really. Anyone who thinks it's safe to come out of the dark and deal marijuana openly is just setting themselves up to get a real fed assraping.

I dont understand the logic here... are you saying its safer to keep it illegal and leave it to border crossers? Rather than have it legal and control its purity?

That was an appeal for Commerce ..wasnt it? I believe Personal Use would fall under Civil Liberties.

Raich cites wickard and others expressly detailing that congress can regulate any good that has interstate or intrastate commerce attached to it. Scalia (originalist my ass) submitted a concurring opinion citing the 'necessary and proper' clause maintaining that congress had the power and duty to prohibit items dangerous to the public.

Im for legalization.

Im saying people who think its now safe to be in the drug trade openly are really stupid if they don't wait for federal law to change.

Look at Beck, Palin and the rest... the morals police ....

Obama, in his newly released federal drug control strategy, Obama underlined that his administration "firmly opposes the legalization of marijuana or any other illicit drug."

Palin and Beck and Conservatives ????? They always get tagged as the moral police by the lefties....

This is what the messiah thinks about the issue....is Obama a FASCIST ?

see klaatu, when rj reynolds get geared up to deal weed, then it will be legal. It won't be allowed to be a cottage industry. This is "free trade".

YouTube - What Conservatives thinks about California Proposition 19

I must say, I am shocked, but didn't Sarah smoke and not like it? It has been legal in Alaska off and on since I have been here! She is right, there are bigger fish to fry and so is Glenn Beck about the whole issue, but I still don't care for either of them. he he!

Thanks for posting this, I about fell off my chair!

Interesting, he could be coming at it from a fear position, or a father's position. I have not heard him talk on this issue, I'll have to go and find out why he doesn't like the substance. He smokes and it is not as bad as tobacco for your body.

Quite simple ... he is a Modern Day Liberal.. the objective is to control the minds , body and Spirit of the populace /sarc

Seriously Modern Day Liberals are not Classical Liberals .. they are as different as Neo-Cons are to Real Conservatives ...

Legalization of Marijuana inside Conservative Politics is not new sudden enlightenment ... this issue goes back to the William Buckley and Milton Friedman days..both who belonged in the Libertarian Wing of Conservatism.
