This Threat to Democracy Is Hiding in Plain Sight

Conservative activist Steven Hotze on Wednesday was indicted on two felony charges related to his alleged involvement in an air conditioning repairman being held at gunpoint in 2020 during a bizarre search for fraudulent mail ballots that did not exist, according to his attorney, Gary Polland.

Hotze, 71, was indicted by a Harris County grand jury and faces one count of unlawful restraint and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Court filings in the case were not available Wednesday evening. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg declined to comment.

The charges stem from Hotze’s hiring of more than a dozen private investigators to look for voter fraud in Harris County ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

They have the same integrity as mail-in voting, which has been used for many years.

Your main gripe with them is the myth that you keep believing in. That they were the source of a massive, systematic voter fraud that resulted in a ‘stolen election’ for your candidate.

The fact is, despite multiple audits, dozens of court filings, even more hollow accusations, there has been not one shred of credible evidence that any such fraud, stuffing or other activity occurred to sway the election.

Some things in life, when you’re proven wrong, you just have to let go. Try it.

Republicans know that the more people are able to vote, the lesser their chances are for winning. Their ideas are so unpopular, cheating is the only way. The way Kemp defeated Abrams was to just wipe voters off the rolls before the election - he was sec of state at the time, basically refereeing his own election. He refused to recuse himself, of course, that would have been the right thing to do.
