This is Who We Pay to Protect Us?

You're not telling the whole story and I think you know that. It's pretty clear this wasn't an accidental mishap. When the workers are taunting the officers then purposefully mess up their order by putting a very hot sauce on that's not an honest mistake.

That is the disrespect the wife is speaking about.

Then why aren't there any witnesses?

To taunt someone out in front of the cash registers from the kitchen of any fast food restaurant would require the cook to be quite LOUD and would have been easily heard by other customers.

Yet to this day, not a single person in that town has come forward to corroborate the cop's story.

Has anyone put out a public bulleton asking for witnesses to come forward?

"“Years ago, this profession was respected, it was honored,” Shores said. “Now to get ridiculed, to be a target, to possibly get shot at, for little pay. What’s the motivation to be a police officer other than do it because your heart’s in it to help the community?"

She's comparing the officers getting the wrong wing sauce to being shot at.

No she is not. She is simply adding to the list of things police officers are subject to.

How can you be this dim?

No I am not. I'm merely stating that their lunch time may not be during the normal lunch rush.

Which you have yet to concede is true. Why can't you admit it is possible you are wrong and that this didn't occur during lunch rush, AND on a SUNDAY, which is not considered to have lunch rush?

I see you avoided the wager, chicken.

Just so you know, he's never worked and therefore has no idea of different shifts, various eating times for those shifts, or anything that has to do with work.

Not at Taco Bell. They make the food right behind the cash register.

There may be no witnesses because thus far you have not confirmed the "lunch rush" element of your story.

This isn't a criminal case. You think officers are going around trying to get videotape of the place to find witness?

Did you not read the HUNDREDS of statements of support and calls for boycotting Zaxby's from the community following the initial reporting of the story?

Why have we yet to read even a single statement from anyone claiming to have been in the restaurant at the time?

Most logical conclusion...because it DIDN'T HAPPEN the way the cops claim.

I didn't expect you to acknowledge the unvarnished truth.

She is claiming the "dangers" her husband and other officers face daily range from getting the wrong hot sauce on their wings to getting shot at.

A tweet from Zaxby's:

Zaxby's

I know for a fact you don't like when others make assumptions yet that is what you are doing here. This happened two days ago and you are acting like it was front page news similar to a terrorist attack and getting to the bottom of it is the number one focus of the community and law enforcement.

Just like your most logical conclusion it was "right wing TERRORISM"?

LOL. Dumbass liar.

People face car accidents daily, people could also get struck by lightening, doesn't mean they are comparing a lightning strike with an auto accident you stupid liar.

Looks like it was true all along.

The incident came amid growing tension between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The franchise owner of the restaurant in question sent Channel 9 a statement, which said he was sorry for any undue stress it caused the department.

The sheriff's office sent a separate statement, which read, "The office is pleased with Zaxby's response -- their commitment to the community they serve -- and thank Zaxby's for addressing the matter as quickly and thoroughly as they have."

Both parties have said the matter is now closed.

ROFL..."tainted" food.

See, it's outlandish hyperbole like that which makes me think the officers "embellished" their story a bit for dramatic effect and to garner sympathy.

It's now been FIVE days and still not a single person has come forward to corroborate the officer's story.

According to both Zaxby's and the local police: Both Zaxby's and the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office released statements on Thursday, July 14 both claiming "this matter is now closed."

Nothing in your link corroborates the officers claim that they were heckled.

When faced with a PR nightmare like this, naturally an apology is going to be issued.
