This Is the Most Wanted Car in America (and It’s Not Even Close).

Notice how he has to continuously delude himself into believing that EVs will not eventually replace ICE cars.

EV's are not popular. There is a thin segment of the market that wants one. Norway had to push massive subsidies and bribes on their populace to get to something like 80% EV's there.

He's in for a rude awakening

It is always the same, and why the LEFT and not people on the right are required and needed for societies to progress and not die.

He does not even understand the debates on resistance to the automobile from the Horse and buggy advocates. He points to a point LATER as the automobile became MORE proven to say they were always supported, when that is NOT TRuE.

Get A Horse! America’s Skepticism Toward the First Automobiles
The inventor who claimed the first U.S. car ever sold recalls the birth of the industry and the general public skepticism about automobiles.

there would be no deny that Terry would be one of the loudest voices against the automobile in its earliest days by trying to show how at the POINT IN TIME, they were not popular compared to the horse and buggy.

Society simply has to over come his type. Anti progress. Anti advancement. And anti intellectual.

I love it, others crave it :D

I love it also, Arby.
I can't get in and out of it anymore....but I still love it.

Maybe we will need to go electric...I don't know....
but let's not pretend that we're not giving up a lot of quality of life doing it.

If the reality is bad, why make it worse with bullshit?

Giving up nothing. You will get better and prettier cars. I drove one of these, same color. I do not want to go back. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/361484307560401525/

The sound of a well tuned, high compression, eight or twelve cylinder engine is a joy to some people.
One either gets it or doesn't.
That's how it is with most things that some people will come to miss.

Modern cars are crushable exoskeletons.
I'm not sure how anybody can call them pretty,
but to each his own.

Rivian is set to announce the R2 line sometime next year, and they're going to be slightly smaller and more affordable (40-60k), something they'll need in order to really carve out a market share beyond the upper upper middle class and above.

Tesla, which is scheduled to report quarterly earnings on July 19, delivered a record 466,140 new cars over the second quarter, up 83.5% from a year earlier and 10.2% north of the 422,875 tally reached over the three months ended in March.
Bright Future for Tesla
Analysts' forecasts for deliveries ranged from 440,000 to around 450,000, with Refinitiv pegging the March quarter target at 448,000.
Besides the strong previous quarter, analysts at Mizuho said they see a bright future for the company due to its position as one of the few EV companies that has a global footprint.
Mizuho sees Tesla as the world leader in EVs for at least the next decade thanks to Gigafactories in Berlin and Shanghai, along with plans to build another in Mexico.
So, if we were to tell you that Tesla is the most wanted car brand in the U.S., you probably wouldn't be surprised. But we're going to tell you anyway.
In fact, Tesla was the*car brand people are looking to buy the most across the world, topping the tables as the most Googled car for sale in 39 countries, according to a study by AutoTrader.
It's Good News for All EV Makers
The EV-maker nailed down the top spot in the U.S., in 25 out of 50 states, along with Canada, France, Spain, Germany, Australia, UAE and Scandinavia.
AutoTrader said the report analyzes Google search data to reveal which cars people want to buy the most in over 180 different countries across 200 different car brands.
The group's data shows that in the UK some of the quickest selling cars include the BMW X1, which had an average live listing time of just 11 days, and the Lexus NX 350h, which had an average live listing time of only 13 days.
AutoTrader said Tesla's popularity is good news for the entire EV market as it shows that there is a sustained appetite for electric vehicles in major auto countries.

Don't give up on it, Nifty. My mother is 96 and loves riding in it. I help her in and out, but she puts her
red scarf and sunglasses on and off we go out to eat or just an evening ride to the ice cream shop.

I have no intent on going electric because I love the sound of the .630 lift cam and rumble of the big block.
I'd bet most guys and gals I see at car shows share my thoughts on it too. Cars of the 60's and 70's have
such style and the body lines just aren't matched in the newer cars.

Reality? There ain't no bullshit when it comes to cars. Older is better.
BTW, everyone went crazy over a beautiful Model A, a spectacular restoration,
and it won a 1st. place trophy in the 1950 and older class. I voted for it too.

This must be a real conundrum for you joey wet panties, Elon Musk owning Tesla AND Twitter.

One of my friends has a Ducati. He doesn't race motorcycles. But he'd like to track his Porsche GT4...
I have a friend who also has a Ducati!

His is ratted out, in terms of looks, but a good bike to get around on.

I haven't seen him around lately, so I am assuming his bike has broken down on him again.

Ducati's have always been one of those "Need for speed" niche bikes, in my opinion.

But, I have nothing negative to say about them really, they are unique bikes and those that own them are really proud of them.

Norway also subsidizes it OIl and Gas industry. MOreso historically and in significant amounts.

This is a worldwide thing that you seem unaware of...

Governments Spent Record $1 Trillion Last Year Subsidizing Fossil Fuels
By Bloomberg

Feb 16, 2023

The things terry is unaware of would fill the Grand Canyon.

Yea... Sure...

The Bloomberg article doesn't break any of that down.

First, those are the global totals, with China leading the way. So, most of that can be ignored as it isn't being done by the US, any more than we can count in subsidies for EV's from foreign countries.

Before we break down the numbers behind the claims, let’s first define subsidy. According to Dictionary.com subsidy can be defined four ways:

1. a direct pecuniary aid furnished by a government to a private industrial undertaking, a charity organization, or the like.
2. a sum paid, often in accordance with a treaty, by one government to another to secure some service in return.
3. a grant or contribution of money.
4. money formerly granted by the English Parliament to the crown for special needs.

Debunking Myths About Federal Oil & Gas Subsidies
https://www.forbes.com/sites/drilli...ut-federal-oil-gas-subsidies/?sh=e58f446e1cda

Next, when you bother to actually look at what these supposed subsidies are in the US, somewhere close to 90% of them are nothing more than allowed accounting techniques any corporation can use. Things like:

Intangible drilling costs. Allowed deductions from net profit for costs associated indirectly with drilling
Well depletion. Essentially an allowance for depreciation of an asset, something any corporation can take.
Clean coal tax credit. Here's one that is actually a subsidy. It amounts to $1.5 billion spread over about two decades or about $75 million a year.
LIFO accounting. Again an accounting method any corporation can use.

https://www.eesi.org/papers/view/fa...-closer-look-at-tax-breaks-and-societal-costs

So, try again. The oil and gas industry does not get massive subsidies in the US unlike EV production does.

So, your shallow understanding of what subsidies are, and swallowing the lies of the likes of the Left's Environmental Front, have you looking as stupid as you sound.

Blatant lie. The best selling car by far is the Ford F150 truck (gasoline version).

I will try again, ... to get you to respond intelligently since nothing you say above makes sense.

You claim any corporation can claim tax deductions on Intangible drilling costs??

Ok explain how McDonalds claims those.

Put all your nonsense aside everything you list above directly or indirectly add in Trillions to the balance sheets of ICE manufactures and the industries that support them world wide. Posting US numbers only will not help your argument.

Here are the questions you need to answer:

1 - Do you admit or not, that whether it be direct cash subsidies, or gov';ts allowing you to write off all sorts of your tangible and intangible costs ALL OF THOSE THINGS help the company make more money? Be more profitable?

2 - That directly or indirectly impacts the price we pay for ICE vehicles and their operations (gas) making them cheaper to the consumer

3 - That the EV industries subsidies are ALSO a mix of intangible and tangible, direct and indirect in the same way that ICE and OIl and gas receive theirs

It seems to me in your stupidity you think what EV are getting in terms of subsidies are a world first and only something they have received while ICE manufactures, you will admit get Trillions world wide and billions in America but you say those don't count... for 'reasons'.

You lose on this point, 100%. You do not make a winning point on any singular issue here but you are too dumb to understand that.

Assuming the company survives. It's about a millimeter away from bankruptcy.

Longer range? It is not about range. New EVs are getting about 400 miles of range and some say it will be much longer soon. Do you fill up and run to zero, limping into a station? Neither do EV owners. Plugging in at night takes 10 seconds.

It is about range and time to charge.
It takes twice as long to charge a 100Mj battery than it does to charge a 50Mj battery.
