"This is not a good-news story. This is a people-are-dying story."

Until the last couple of days the supplies that were there never left the dock side containers, and large part of what has since arrived are waiting for space to unload due to the stalled containers. Federal Hurricane relief is depended upon a local infrastructure to begin dispersing supplies when they first arrive, however in this case, that infrastructure was totally destroyed. It wasn't till Wednesday that the needed administrative support from the Federal Gov't was established to logistically begin addressing those problems

What your overlooking, or just refusing to accept, is that the President, as the leader of the Nation, failed to even acknowledge in any significant way the destruction of Puerto Rico. As President, if he stresses an action, it gets done, but when he reacts apathetically, it sets the tone. And given what he did seem to see was the biggest concern for the Nation over last weekend adds another blunder attached to the Administration

They've been getting help since 9/22, ships have been deployed in the area since before Irma. What's more important here? Playing blame game politics or focusing on the good that's been done so far and do more and more now each passing day with clearer roads and airstrips?

The electric company ripped off the people, with Rube Goldberg type power lines connecting communities.
They apparently owe a bunch of money. The government is broke from vast overspending..can't borow anymore

So I wonder if some fiscal housekeeping isn't called for as well as massive Disaster Zone spending.
They seriously need to harden their infrastructure for next time

They'd need to vote DEMOCRATS out first, wouldn't they?

"Playing blame game politics," funny reading that from a conservative given the last nine years

No one is playing the blame game, rather just pointing out the apparent intial apathetic view of the President and arrogance of the Administration since by saying everything is going along fine

I'm done, this is ridiculous, the response has been ineffective, Trump blew it and I have no more to say to you who don't see that the response was inadequate and slow. Government knew infrastructure is ruined and they did not respond with manpower and equipment to restore these things smoother aid could be carried out.

We will have to agree to disagree
Well we all might be jumping the gun cause Puerto Rico disaster response is far from over. The scope of the disaster is far larger than Katrina too but so far 4000 troops and 10,000 FEMA workers are on the ground. With them they have brought 1.5 million meals and 1.1 million liters of water several billion dollars are already ear marked for relief with more undoubtedly to be authorized by Congress. Not to mention President Trump eliminated a majority red tape barrier to provide more relief. Puerto Rico is still a disaster but it has not sunk into the horrors that New Orleans did after Katrina. Also the boots on the ground have been competent too. There’s a long way to go on this story but by any objective measure Trumps administration has performed better than the Bush administration did.

I see what you did there.

It's Christians who will be delivering tons of food, water and supplies there just as we do everywhere there is need.
They aren't the ones being insensitive on this forum, now are they.
I respect those Christians and have worked with them and Muslims during this crisis here.

Wow, for the past five days the conservatives have been getting a lot of mileage out of that one line from the Governor, which by the way one small part of what was said, but the facts aren't stopping 'em, sure we are all going to see it again, and again, and again, and again

Cry harder dumbfuck. :rofl2:

I love it when Mot pretends his brain dead liberal buddies care about facts or reality. It is fun to watch. :rofl2:

I seem to have hit a nerve. :rofl2:

Nah, just showing how your always behind, not that that is a surprise

Your comrade just gets done trying to build a point by highlighting the uselessness of "playing blame game politics" and you jump in with "they'd need to vote DEMOCRATS out," beautiful

This type of thing goes beyond the realm of emotions. There are realities that need to be dealt with at the same time as delivering hope and immediate relief to the people. The actual lives of these people is first and foremost. Close behind are lessons, legal problems both individually and state, infrastructure, financial, business, etc. which all combines to the total diverse needs of Puerto Ricans and their lives as a whole going forward.

So's the governor. Can you find it in your black heart to praise him?

I praise the candor that continues to be displayed by DEMOCRAT Ricardo Rossello, governor of Puerto Rico, who again said Friday that President Trump has responded to his requests for help in the aftermath of two hurricanes.

It must take a lot of courage to tell the truth repeatedly when so many DEMOCRATS continue to lie.

I suspect the faux poutrage that the DEMOCRAT-infested media is amplifying has nothing to do with actually caring about storm victims, but is political propaganda motivated by hatred and a desire for vengeance on our 45th President.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Governor Rossello suddenly became despondent and committed Arkanicide suicide by being shot shooting himself twice in the back of the head and getting rid of the gun and shell casings before expiring. :D

Yes and much more good news also.........Nobody does it better than our military, nobody does planning and strategy better!

Hurricane Maria: 101st Airborne heading to Puerto Rico

The 101st Airborne Division is again being called upon to help with hurricane relief, but this time a bit farther south.

In a tweet Tuesday morning, the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade posted a photo of soldiers loading a medical evacuation helicopter onto a C5 Galaxy cargo plane, which was bound for Puerto Rico.

The division was expected to make a formal announcement of the relief effort Tuesday. That aviation unit was also called on to respond to Hurricane Irma relief in Florida earlier this month, but it was sent home only a week after leaving.

Col. Patrick Seiber at the Pentagon said about 70 soldiers and eight helicopters from Fort Campbell would be leaving for Puerto Rico late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

It will likely take another 24 to 48 hours for the helicopters to be used in the relief efforts on the island, 101st Airborne spokesman Lt. Col. Martin O'Donnell said.

The response would add to the growing efforts from military assets, which to this point include National Guard soldiers, Navy vessels and other assets.

Seiber said about 2,800 soldiers and Army civilians have been called in, and 15 aircraft and 520 trucks are being used in the relief effort.

"Too little, too late, Trump was shamed into it by our whining. He didn't want to help Puerto Rico because he is rayciss".

Signed,

The Left.
