this is how government fails

if you cry babies don't want to read people's posts you don't like, 1. don't read the posts, 2. get damo to simply ban those people. if you really need an invite only area to debate topics as you think the rest are trash...why don't you just ban all those you don't like or agree with....

and maineman, you're the least of anyone to talk about who is or is not considered trash on forum boards, your reputation has to be one of the worst on nearly every board i know you on....including this one

late last year, the north texas transit authority raised the toll road fee from .75 to 1.00 to to make up for a budget shortfall. As the majority of us predicted would happen, less people used the toll roads, so the obvious end result was a decrease in revenue.

what do the bureaucrats decide to do to make up for that shortfall?

raise the toll fee another 32%.

what a bunch of dumbasses.

Just privatize the toll road that will fix everything.

that does sound like the gas companies though.

That last statement is almost an exact quote of the projections about the last increase.

AS I suspected...deception

Interesting...YOU conclude decreased traffic was due to an increase in tolls from .75 to 1.00... NO WHERE does the article tie the two together...a question was raised IF the proposed increase will decrease use of the toll road...

IRONIC...YOUR conclusion that decreased traffic was due to an increase in tolls just happens to coincide with a decrease in ALL traffic in America because of $4 -$5 per gal GAS prices...how convenient...

Some people like you will avoid the toll road...and end up spending MORE money on gas because of longer, out of the way routes, stops for traffic lights, school buses etc... and of course pea brains like you put $0.00 value on your own TIME, because, because, well, because you have a pea for a brain...

You remind me of a joke I heard years ago...

A man confided to his doctor that his sex drive was not up to his wife's desires...

The doctor told him to run 5 miles a day for the next month and his problems would be solved...

The man called the doctor a month later; the doctor inquired if the running increased his sex drive and if he was now able to satisfy his wife...

The man replied...yea, I'm horny as hell, but I can't answer the second question...I'm 150 miles from home!

And your point is..............................

Only idiots believe raising prices doesn't reduce consumption. You're the idiot in this analogy, driving on the toll road is consumption, the toll is the price, the drivers are the consumers.

I said driving decreases because of higher prices...remember my $4-$5 GAS factor...

And I said, SOME pea brains will avoid the toll road, so they can consume MORE gas and consume MORE of their time...and spend MORE $$...

I'm sure the NTTA has a pea brain cost factor in their equation...

That's a good thing though, then the smart liberals will be able to get to the office more efficiently and avoid the pea brains...

I don't know what Texas uses to pave and patch their toll road, but asphalt is an OIL based product..THUS, an increase in the price of oil will increase the price of asphalt. But I'm sure the batch plants just give it away to the State...

Hey, maybe we need to go back to dirt roads where it took people a DAY to travel 100 miles...

Just as higher tolls reduce usage. They both could be a factor.
And I said, SOME pea brains will avoid the toll road, so they can consume MORE gas and consume MORE of their time...and spend MORE $$...
Yes some will. That explains a loss of revenue, due to higher rates.

Insulting people doesn't negate the basic stupidity of your comments.

Yes, BOTH could be a factor...BUT, dumber than dogshit said the usage on the Texas toll road decreased, and blamed it ALL on a nominal toll increase , BUT NEVER mentioned the significant increase in GAS prices that DID factor into the WHOLE country driving LESS...

I'm sorry I insulted asphalt...

You just made yourself look ignorant of supply/ demand issues.

I did. You were saying stupid shit. Do you have anything besides denial and faux outrage?

Sorry, I'm about to PROVE you are a stupid shit...

WRONG!!! There would be a loss of REVENUE ONLY if 26% less people utilized the toll road because of the higher toll...

The REVENUE collected for every 3 vehicles at 1.00 would be EQUAL to the REVENUE collect for every 4 vehicles at .75...

See, you're a stupid shit...

You're the one who pretended that the price of the road would not effect it's usage. That's just stupid.

I see that you're the kind of dumbass that accepts government beauracratic statements as pure fact and undeniable.

Tell me something, since the price of gas dropped below $2 a gallon, why hasn't the toll road usage increased?
