There is an extremist movement that does not share the basic beliefs of our democracy

Quite a few got misdemeanors. Quite a few got felonies. One got impeached. And, additional felonies await trial.

But you avoid the question. How many riots happen where people are convicted for sedition? I’ll wait for that answer.

As for political persecution? BULLSHIT. And, since we’ve figured that part of your post is bullshit, I’ll go with that for the rest of your post.

That wasn't central to the riot. A handful of people, many not even present at the riot, who were members of a specific group, aka The Proud Boys, got charged with that. What you are doing is an illicit minor fallacy thus:

Proud Boys are seditionists
Proud Boys are Jan 6 rioters
Therefore, Jan 6 rioters are seditionists.

It will be unfortunate - but if Trump wins re-election, it will be a big waker upper for a lot of folks. There will be a lot of "how did we miss the signs?"

Which are obvious. I mean, the guy praises dictators like Kim & Putin, and disses our more democratic allies. He 100% wants to be a dictator.

Your literacy and logic skills suck, almost as much as your political loyalty.

Did I say all Proud Boys are seditionists? Nope.
Did I say all Proud Boys are J6 rioters? Nope

Therefore, your logic fails. The logical conclusion one may easily reach from those statements is that you’re stupid.

I was wrong about 3 guilty verdicts on sedition.

Nine Oath Keepers and four Proud Boys. All MAGAts.

Last time prior to J6? 1995 for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Okay. Fair enough. Still an illicit minor fallacy.

I have no idea what that last sentence is about.

The closest other incident to Jan 6 is the March 1 1971 bombing of the Capitol building by the Weathermen (a subset of the SDS), a radical Leftist domestic terrorist group. Note: who's members included William Ayres and Bernadette Dorn, Obama's neighbors who he was good friends with...

So, you just ignore all of the reporting and first-hand accounts of the WH discussions and efforts to overturn the election in the weeks prior to 1/6?

No different there than other times before such as the Gore v. Bush election and Florida vote count... Trump has just been more virulent in his claims than others.

LOL

It's as different as it could be. Gore/Bush was not the same, at all. Gore wanted a recount, which was allowable under FL law. His mistake was going for a selective recount. The courts rejected it, and he conceded.

Anyone who thinks that is comparable to the actions of the Trump admin around 2020 is completely delusional. Just untethered to reality.

If that's true, then why did you bring it up to begin with? I inferred from your implied statement that you were arguing because some of the rioters got charged with sedition that the entire riot was a seditious insurrection which would make what you stated an illicit minor fallacy which I subsequently pointed out.

The GOP realized decades ago that both demographic shift and the aged population dying out and the voting age getting younger meant that the GOP would have to evolve and change with the population or the party would never be able to win.

There was discussions instead by the hard core racists of implementing versions of the Southern Strategy, by instead further shrinking the party but around a hard core, racist base, but most realized that would eventually be the death of the party.

BUt still the idea of trying to appeal to Latino's, Blacks and young people was just not something most racist, xenophobic, sexist republicans could stomach, so they turned to a version of the Southern Strategy anyway with Trump. Which was why LIndsey said 'if we go with Trump we will destroy the party and deserve it'.

Trumps version of the Southern Strategy requires they destroy American democracy so they can establish minority rule under a tyrant King because they know if they ever allow a fair vote after they will be done.

On point. The nation was made a Constitutional representative democracy and has remained that up to now. The system is fortified, wonderfully so in its component divisions of power by comparison with systems across the globe that have copied us in various ways. MAGA foundered against it in 2020. It may try again next year if Trump is the nominee and loses again or maybe it will have learned a lesson.
