By the time, local, first line of defense, Nagin and Blanco, was shown to be less than adequate...in real terms, a fuckin' failure...it was too late for Bush for any bureaucrat to change or even limit the damage.....the hurricane wasn't giving second chances....
The time for rescue of those in NO was long past, long gone, the damage was done, the short window to get people out of harms way and get supplies to those in need was long over....

His leadership was proven on 9/11, in working with the UK and UN, in gathering a coalition to oust Saddam, in enlisting allies in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and taking the fight to al Qaeda

any 'void' in decision making was caused by Blanco and her insistence that she was in control...she would not relinquish her control of the National Guard, those most needed to rescue and supply the victims....
The Federal government cannot by law just take over control of a state when the governor is right there fighting it....

Bush is not the Messiah, Obama has that position for awhile now.....Bush is a victim of slanted, biased news coverage and outright lies that the media helps spread while ignoring the actions of the other side....their side........demonizing good patriots just like Rumsfeld, Gingrich and so many others........
