there is much that divides us. I like to think of the Tao symbol ; the yin and yang. The yin cannot exist without yang, and vice versa -and the 2 UNITED make the Whole.

we still exist when we are not in harmony ( and brother i've never seen us so much NOT in harmony in my 50+ years of following politics) but we are not in balance, and not reaching our potential expanse.
Some inbalance in nature is expected, but not this hard fracture the article exposes. It weakens us a United States when we are in disunion.

I find it a little ironic, though maybe it's not, that ILA thinks the exact same way. To him liberals aren't to be talked to or reasoned with, they are to be destroyed.

So to him, someone like myself on the right who does talk to liberals and does try to find common ground is seen as weak. Maybe that's why you two go at each other like you do because you share the same mindset on this issue.

Your actions definitely belie your former post when you said Republicans shouldn't be talked to because you have talked to all people.

As for the last eight years I'd say it takes two to tango. Republicans hated Bill Clinton. They impeached the man for lying about a BJ. But they worked with Clinton and passed a lot of legislation with him.

To each his own for what they believe the best way for their 'side' to 'win'. We all have our own ideas and beliefs as to what way is best.
