The U.S. needs a democracy overhaul. Here’s what Biden’s first step should be.

just a part of it...........what the electoral college does do is prevent a few high population centers from controlling the direction of a nation that consists of 50 states

Why is every election, except the president, based on popular vote? Seriously, you believe democracy is a failure?

democracy is a failure. the USA started out as a republic, with equal representation for the people, the states, and the nation..........Liberals/Democrats/progressives are close to destroying all of that. you hate the country.

Most non-populous areas already receive ample (and disproportionate) representation w/ the Senate. There is really nothing about a national popular vote that would give population centers any kind of "control."

And the electoral system also involves its own "tyranny of the majority" - as most states have a winner-take-all method of deciding electors.

Good point. Let's say the vote is 1,000,000 for candidate A and 1,000,001 for candidate B. Candidate B gets 24 electoral votes and candidate A gets zero.

Uh, cart before horse. Shouldn't you at least let a majority rule before you label it tyranny? Dumberthanshit

How about we give them most popular government a chance for a change?

prior to the 17th Amendment, the people were represented by the house, the states represented by the senate, and the nation represented via the electoral college. that is a republic. your democracy destroys the protection of the individual.

learn from the founders experience, uneducated idiot.

Your contempt for the architects of the first democracy in history is duly noted.
