The Trump Effect? After Carrier pledge to keep jobs in US, more companies may follow

I agree they weren't "shovel ready." But it did create jobs. And overall, the stimulus did what it was supposed to do; it stopped the freefall, turned the economy around & let the private sector take over.

There certainly weren't "no jobs." You need to look at the CBO analysis. It was fairly successful, though not a total fulfillment of its original promise.

bullshit......there were dozens of charts showing millions spent and a handful of jobs created.......usually temporary jobs like one year's funding for a teacher or a fireman with nothing for year two......

Yeah, if has 208 more of them in his 4 year term he will have "saved" just over 100k jobs or rather he will have burdened taxpayers by creating 100k well payed welfare roles. One hundred thousand jobs is not even a good month for our economy.

you know, the last time I looked 208 times 1000 wasn't "just over 100k".......are you a victim of liberal math?....

but where are these jobs being created? By their interviews the carrier employees say that there was nothing else around.

A lot of liberals nowadays expect people like the carrier employees, the miners of west virginia, and various other groups to just pack up and move. Where and how? With the source of livelyhood gone the areas land value drops so they cant sell the house at a decent price. It costs a lot more money to move to the bigger cities and if retraining were supposed to magically get you the great new job then the people already in the cities would have been retrained to take them. The most likely outcome is they will move and end up begging in the street.

Your argument is one fit where we have a booming economy yet our economy sees less participation every year even if the govt is claiming we have "full employment"

Consider that your argument only makes sense in a world where hillary wins in a landslide. Instead of losing the house senate and presidency.

They are being created in growing industries. http://www.businessnewsdaily.com/9138-fastest-growing-industries.html

So the buggy whip makers and their progeny all ended up begging in the streets? The millions of farm workers did not transition, they all ended up as beggars?

Of course, that did not happen. If your fear mongering nonsense were accurate we would never grow.

You are the one that is encouraging a beggar mentality. You want them to do it from a factory building but it does not change the net effect much.

Our labor participation rate is down largely due to an aging population. You have failed to note that twice now and it's obvious you are just trying to misrepresent the data.

Economics are not changed based on who wins the White House. Hillary's failure has no impact at all on the validity of my arguments.

I think other companies should consider making announcements that they are moving jobs down to Mexico.

because they want to be told personally that corporate taxes and regulations are going down and import duties on anything they make in Mexican factories are going up?......

Pimp is really playing fast and loose with that whole "I take Trump figuratively, not literally" mantra that Trumptards keep spouting, this morning. :cof1:

Again, there is probably more than one factory in Indianapolis.

Some number will go into growing industries where jobs are actually being created, not "saved" (see subsidized and turned into welfare jobs) by politicians.
