The Trump Effect? After Carrier pledge to keep jobs in US, more companies may follow

Douchebag Donald has been a self-serving leftist since before he voted against Reagan, twice.
People change, people adjust. Life events can, and often do, reshape and realign our world view. Trump isn't a perfect conservative, but he's definitely not some weak wristed moderate.

I'll step off and let you pound your chest in self righteousness- enjoy your one hand clapping.

btw this is not just one factory. More likely than not that one factory is the one bringing money and jobs into the town which means the service sector and small businesses in that town are reliant on it paying the town citizens. This most likely saved that place from going the way of flint or detroit.

Donald J. Trump said:
“I think she does a good job ... The record of Hillary Clinton and how did she do as Secretary of State, probably above and beyond everybody else.”

Yes, he really changed a lot after voting for Carter and Mondale all of those years later.

I agree they weren't "shovel ready." But it did create jobs. And overall, the stimulus did what it was supposed to do; it stopped the freefall, turned the economy around & let the private sector take over.

Wrong; the freefall had long since ended before they passed this trillion dollar boondoggle. Nothing can be more ignorant than the belief that Governments can just spend trillions they don't have to buy their way out of a recession.

I am constantly amazed by this idiotic, perhaps even retarded notion that nations can print their way out of recessions; if only it were that easy right?

There certainly weren't "no jobs." You need to look at the CBO analysis. It was fairly successful, though not a total fulfillment of its original promise.

There are plenty of jobs; PART TIME and LOW WAGE.

The only reason unemployment isn't properly registered is that so many fell out of the job market and were no longer counted and Government believes that if you are in a temporary job working ten hours a week trying to pay your bills while looking for real work, you're fully employed.

Dunce.

As for the OP & Carrier, kudos to Trump. But it was essentially a $700K payoff on the backs of IN taxpayers, all made possible by the fact that the acting Governor is also the VP-Elect.

Not exactly a formula that can be utilized quite as much going forward.

Link us up! :rofl2:

Ironic that the previous post lauded a massive Government spending plan but lampoons Trumps efforts to keep jobs here; something Obama couldn't do if he were handed the blueprint.

No, your wrong, read beyond what you want to hear, and even so, now 1000 jobs is your measure of "making America great?" it don't even make Indiana great, if that is at all possible

Besides, ironic you never mention the details involved, but are quick to tell us what you think Obama's trade off was for saving an entire industry

Wand to try again?

Well, you can't very well disavow that sentiment, since you'd be contradicting the almighty words of Lord Trump.

You'll have to be a very hungry dog to turn on your master. Even then, I doubt you will do it.

Who wrote this pile of garbage, Trump himself? Notice all the unsourced backers and top aides?

Bill Gates has not been CEO of Microsoft for some time now and I don't believe they do much manufacturing. It seems like the idiot author threw that in just to name drop.

he'll turn up the heat on other companies planning to send jobs outside the U.S.

Turn up the heat! LOL, it's called crony capitalism. He, or rather Pence, gave them who knows what kind of incentives to stay and it is really bad economics. It might do well politically but it makes us all poorer.
