They don't believe in science.

Right wingers, on the other hand, do "believe in" science, up to a point. Science is an area of faith, to them, to believe in or not believe in, and no one should be criticized for his faith. And science, then, is also like politics, a matter of believing in the proper kind of science. Geology is fine, as clean an area of belief as heaven, but climate science is strictly for the radicals.
