The Shirley Sherrod Incident

whatever liar...

The one that cannot admit he is wrong in anything is Nigel. He won't say he's wrong, only that he's mistaken. Typical really.

Here's a Yahoo article that addresses Obama's struggles with the race issue. It's a Yahoo article, so I'd better hurry up and refer to it before those same phantoms that took away Breibart's stuff don't take this....

Analysis: White House's anxiety on race resurfaces

By BEN EVANS, Associated Press Writer Ben Evans, Associated Press Writer – Thu Jul 22, 12:17 pm ET
WASHINGTON – The Obama White House is back to a teaching moment on race, once again playing the student.

This time, it tried so hard to steer clear of a black-white controversy that it wound up planting itself firmly in just that kind of a spectacle.

Now, President Barack Obama is trying to fix things with a mea culpa — offered through his spokesman — to ousted Agriculture Department worker Shirley Sherrod. But the incident proves that nearly halfway through his term as the nation's first black president, Obama is still struggling to strike the right balance between taking a stand on race and leading the country past it.

The Sherrod firestorm dragged Obama into an ill-timed debate this week that overshadowed what was supposed to be a high moment for him: signing a significant legislative accomplishment, Wall Street reform, into law. And the incident reinforced the damaging perception that his White House caves too quickly to criticism from the political right.

THE NAACP IS RACIST! NOT SHIRLEY SHERROD! Should Breitbart have spelled that out more clearly? That seems to be where you're under a misconception about this. Breitbart was articulating how the NAACP had ridiculed the TEA Party as having "racist elements amongst the group" by posting a video which showed exactly that in the NAACP! He exposed the utter HYPOCRISY of the NAACP on this question of "racism in your midst" as this woman basically admitted that to be the case for her in 1986. The audience broke out in emotive support for her comments, when she was talking about not doing all she could for the white farmer, it's on the video. The NAACP thinks it's perfectly acceptable that Shirley was racist toward the white farmer, before she ever gets to the "rest of the story" as Paul Harvey would say.

Actually, not trusting Mr. Breitbart or yourself, I went back and watched the videotape of the portion mentioned by both Breitbart and you and you know what?

YOU BOTH ARE LIARS...go watch the portion being mentioned and the audience is TOTALLY QUIET.

NO APPLAUSE...

NO CHEERING ...

NO "EMOTIVE SUPPORT"...

NOTHING FROM THE AUDIENCE EXCEPT RESPECTFUL SILENCE.

You claimed to have watched the entire video, but if you had, then you'd note the audience being quiet during Sherrod's story about helping the white farmer.

Another lie from Breitbart and another lie from ol Dixie!

Another lie from Breitbart and another lie from ol Dixie!

And how about that?

I didn't get a civil public response from ol disloyal because everyone knows she's already made an idiot of herself during this discussion and she won't run the risk of making herself look like an even bigger idiot than she already has.

I DID get a neg rep from her, I can only assume because she's just too gutless to say what she's got to say out here on the boards.

Either way, what she didn't do is refute my claim...that both Breitbart and Dixie were LYING when they claimed the audience cheered and applauded when Ms Sherrod told the story in question.

Don't take my word for it...go watch the video...it's true.

UPDATE!!...

I did get a response...from ID, here's her well thought out response to the points I've raised:

"Do you spread as easy as your wife or are you like lump jelly with a BIG FAT BELLY, Icky Ricky?"

Yeah...that's how the good Christian Ice Dancer stays "on topic"

Yoohooo nigey...you said I made this shit up...Come on nigey apologize for making such a false accusation...you were wrong nigey, totally and absolutely wrong :)

This woman alerted her boss at the USDA 5 days BEFORE the story broke. The NAACP had propietary rights to the video and could have looked at the whole thing.

Fuck you asshole I made up nothing!

Sherrod, who was appointed to the USDA position in 2009, said she first heard of the possible controversy when someone e-mailed her last Thursday to taunt her about her comments. She immediately forwarded the e-mail to the USDA so the agency would be aware. She was told that someone would look into it.

She said it wasn't until Monday that she heard back, and by then, she was being asked for her resignation.

Asked if she felt she had an opportunity to explain, Sherrod said, "No, I didn't. The administration, they were not interested in hearing the truth. No one wanted to hear the truth."

Again nigey get a fucking clue...it's more recent statements that are being investigated.

That was not the only parts of the speech dumbfuck. I said it is being looked into.

Yes, it's the NAACP's bomb throwing, false accusations and faux outrage that made this story possible.

You make me sick. Seriously. You disgust me.

There are lots of people I disagree with politically but I still like them and think they're decent people. You aren't one of them. Your celebration of this hatchet job really is something to behold. And then on top of it you celebrate some bullshit "investigation" by presumably the same know-nothing right-wing liars that started this whole ordeal. Politics is a dirty game and all, but this too much by half.

AWWWW- shat-up ya big-ol' screaming shrill assed girl! No one is celebrating anything. I was stating facts that I have either read or heard on the radio about the topic of this thread ...get a grip! This is an ongoing story and so I suggest some valum to help you get through it???

P.S. I am not here to win your friendship and don't give a flying fuck about your feelings...but if it helps you feel better just keep on sharing nigey; I am sure all of us on this anonymous message board enjoy the entertainment value reading about your feelings.:gives:

You are such a big ol' fat whiney tattle-tale...LOL :gives:

1. The White house called for Sherrod's resignation "before" Fox discussed the story.

2.Sherrod alerted her superiors at the USDA 5 days before she was asked to resign.

3. The NAACP had proprietary rights to the full video.

5. Brietbart had been told he could have the video in April and only requested it from his source "after" the NAACP pulled the race card canard against the TEA Party.

6. The video Breitbart recieved was already edited by his source.

Now could/should Fox have waited...yes, and O'Reilly stated as much and apologised to Mrs. Sherrod.

Should Brietbart contacted Sherrod for comment before posting on his blog? Yes, I bet he is much more careful going into the future.

Who though reacted without the facts that took the most toll on Mrs. Sherrod???

It was those who had power over her. The WH who is ultimately culpable for her firing; the USDA who had 5 days to investigate; and the NAACP who owned the video.

PRicky, The day you think I will run and hide like you incessantly post in neg rep comments to me, will be the day you can tie your tennis shoes again, and find your pecker without calling out a search party.

Your pathetic attempts to look credible only highlight the fact that if you weren't such an ugly grotesque man, people would pin you as a shrieking girl.

You wail on here like a chick on the rag and have more PMS episodes than the entire female population in Houston, I am sure.

The mere thought of you possessing a pair of gonads is so completely repulsive and that you actually copulated with a person of the female gender and spilled seed that produced another female is so incredible Guiness would like an interview.

The best thing you could do in any of our defenses is to continue to post and make the complete fool out of yourself you've been doing since you joined here.

Carry on because we know you couldn't shut up anymore than you could stop packing on the pounds.

and this...
This week, Mr. Carlson produced a series of JournoList emails from April 2008, when Barack Obama's presidential bid was in serious jeopardy. Videos of the antiwhite, anti-American sermons of his Chicago pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, had surfaced, first on ABC and then other networks.

JournoList contributors discussed strategies to aid Mr. Obama by deflecting the controversy. They went public with a letter criticizing an ABC interview of Mr. Obama that dwelled on his association with Mr. Wright. Then, Spencer Ackerman of The Washington Independent proposed attacking Mr. Obama's critics as racists. He wrote:

"If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they've put upon us. Instead, take one of them—Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares—and call them racists. . . . This makes them 'sputter' with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction."

No one on JournoList endorsed the Ackerman plan. But rather than object on ethical grounds, they voiced concern that the strategy would fail or possibly backfire

How the fuck can you "lie" about a goddamn VIDEO???? Breitbart didn't lie about ANYTHING, he posted a VIDEO of the woman speaking herself! He didn't put the words in her mouth, he didn't overdub the video!

And are you REALLY going to argue that the NAACP or the Administration accepts whatever Breitbart says as "the truth" without some fact checking? That's a pretty astounding revelation, if that is the case!

What outrages you the most is that Breitbart and Faux saw the bait, took it all the way to their bellies and, in a Rather-esque manner decided it verified their existing hatred of the NAACP and got burned. Good jounalists verify BEFORE they report.

No, there is nothing even REMOTELY similar to this and what Dan The Man did! He went on air with a story about Bush and the National Guard, which was totally FALSE, and he supported his story with "proof" that was FORGED! Now how in the fuck is this anything close to that?

The video is REAL! The woman stood there and ADMITTED she was being racist in dealing with the white farmer, and the audience was voicing approval of that! This is what Breitbart's "story" was about, how the NAACP was being hypocritical about racist viewpoints within their own ranks, while condemning the TEA Party! NOTHING disputed that point made in his story. Now the woman did go on to explain she later realized this was wrong, but that was not what Breitbart was trying to illustrate, his story wasn't about the woman's personal viewpoint, so it's irrelevant to his story. It is relevant in defending her personal reputation, and since the NAACP had the entire video at all times, and refused to release it to Breitbart or Fox News, it is not THEIR fault she was not exonerated earlier. It's also not THEIR fault she was forced to resign. Those things are the fault of the NAACP and the Obama administration, and THEM ALONE!

It's just beyond stunning to me, how the LEFT has perverted this entire story, to make it about Breitbart and Fox and claiming they "lacked journalistic credibility" in some way! This is about the NAACP being hypocrites, then sitting on the video until the public outcry over her being forced to resign by the Obama administration. It's about this administration, who OBVIOUSLY doesn't know how to deal with the most minor of racial situations. It is about this administration's knee-jerk reactionary response to things, before they have all the facts! It's about everything BUT Breitbart, Fox News, OR Shirley Sherrod, for that matter!

More patented Dixie nonsense...

Here's Breitbart's own press release:

In his initial July 19 BigGovernment.com post, published at 11:18 AM ET and headlined "Video Proof: The NAACP Awards Racism--2010," Breitbart wrote in the piece's first two sentences:

"Context is everything.

In this piece you will see video evidence of racism coming from a federal appointee and NAACP award recipient

We are in possession of a video from in which Shirley Sherrod, USDA Georgia Director of Rural Development, speaks at the NAACP Freedom Fund dinner in Georgia. In her meandering speech to what appears to be an all-black audience, this federally appointed executive bureaucrat lays out in stark detail, that her federal duties are managed through the prism of race and class distinctions."

MAKE UP YOUR MIND MR BREITBART...

"Breitbart now says his story is "not about Shirley Sherrod," blames White House for making her the story. On the July 20 edition of CNN's John King Live, Breitbart was asked whether there is a "factual mistake" in his initial report. He replied, "This story is about the NAACP. This story is about the NAACP falsely accusing the Tea Party of being racist." Throughout the interview, Breitbart denied that his story was about Sherrod, saying at one point, "It's not about Shirley Sherrod. I can say it 20 times. It's about the NAACP. "

On July 19th at 11:18 A.M. Breitbart only had access to the portion of video he posted on his site. He did not have the full video, the NAACP would not release it to him. His description of what the video shows is absolutely accurate. You people act like, since she admitted it was wrong, she didn't do anything wrong! Her admitted actions are still blatantly racist! I'm glad the NAACP finally decided to release the part of the video which reveals her contrition and confession it was wrong to do as she did, but that doesn't mean Breitbart was somehow at fault for not knowing that information!

No, they reported it as her beliefs NOW. It was not her current beliefs, it was how she felt years ago, and she says she realizes she was wrong and what's more, the focus of her prior racism says she is a good friend and NOT a racist. But you skim over that with no problem at all.

Uhm, no, I think I was very clear on that. At 11:18 A.M. on July 19th, there was only one portion of the video available to Mr. Breitbart, Fox News, and anyone else who reported on it. Fox News didn't actually "report" anything until after Ms. Sherrod was forced to resign. Until the NAACP released the video (which they could have done at any time), no one knew 'the rest of the story' from Ms. Sherrod. The story Breitbart was doing, had nothing to do with Ms. Sherrod's racism in 1986, or her supposed redemption. It was about the hypocrisy of the NAACP, who one week before, adopted a resolution to 'condemn racist elements in the TEA Party movement.' ...Of which, there was no video, or audio, to even be misconstrued.

Let me ask you dimwitted fuckers something... If a white man had gotten up in front of a TEA Party group, and admitted he openly discriminated against people because they were black, way back in 1986... would it have matter one whit to you what he had to say after that? It's amazing to me, how well you all seem to understand and comprehend "context" when you have to! If this had been the other way around, no amount of contrition or remorse would have been enough, you wouldn't have even listened to that part of the story, it would have been completely ignored, and you would all be pointing your crooked little fingers at that "racist" TEA Party, and bragging about your "PROOF" of that!
