The Shirley Sherrod Incident

The thing of it is, it seems to be a pattern with the WH. Snap judgments on things like the intelligence of cops and their "racism", firing people for a story about what they had learned 26 years ago....

The pattern seems to be that this administration doesn't know how to deal with race issues.

Breitbart knows what he's doing. I mean, it's no wonder that three of the latest right-wing blogospheric freakouts are the racist USDA official denying benefits to white people, the New Black Panther Party and DoJ not prosectuing racism against white people and Muslims building a Mosque at Ground Zero. Of course, I'm sure it just coincidence.

That's a good little Rightie Automaton...CYA just like all the other scurrying Rightie Roaches are doing!!

You CLEARLY CALLED THIS WOMAN A RACIST yesterday and then started backpedaling when you realized you'd bought into Breitbart's Big Lie!

Cover Yer Ass...

I should thank you...the gales of my laughter at your ridiculous spinning and backpedaling has GOT to count for some calorie burning, so in a way you're helping me lose weight...THX!!

:good4u:

The things she said were racist. She said them and admitted them to be wrong. Something you, fat a$$, will never admit to.

Anything I can do to assure you're around for your daughter's graduation from kindergarten can only be seen as a selfless act of extreme humanity, but judging by your pictures and your sheer inability to do anything other than point the mouse and click for ALL your information, I doubt you will be there.

Now go change your sweatpants, Rollo Man. The wet spot should be embarassing.

And what's funny is EVERYBODY'S GUILTY this time...

Breitbart is guilty for posting the video out of context...

The NAACP is guilty of caving to pressure from the WH...

And the WH is guilty of just plain jumping the gun before all the info was in...why they did so considering where the original posting came from is beyond me!

What is funny is, The Obama Administration is at fault, and no one else, with the possible exception of the NAACP, who aided and abetted in the hurling of Ms. Sherrod's career under the bus. It's also very funny this all comes on the 1-year anniversary to a certain "incident" in Cambridge, which also involved a hypersensitive overreaction from this White House on an issue of race.

Again, Breitbart is Breitbart... like Huffington is Huffington! Like Coulter is Coulter... Like Olbermann is Olbermann... Like Hannity is Hannity... Like Rush is Rush! It's not THEIR place to hire, fire, or reprimand Federal Government employees, or make determinations on such actions. THEY are the ones who aren't at fault, and are NOT doing the backpedaling today!

I think knee-jerk reaction to something like this causes its own problems. Even before the full tape came out I was saying that I wanted to see it all before I'd make a judgment. It was foolish of whomever made the decision not to seek all of the information.

typical response from the far left....

see...

1) Duke Lacrosse players

2) Obama's comments on Gates

3) firing someone prior to knowing what the hell was going on

So the things she said are racist?

Then why were you making excuses for her yesterday?

So,which time were you lying??

Yesterday or this afternoon?:cof1:

Let me explain this to you s-l-o-w-l-y, because I don't want you to have a heart attack trying to keep up with me fat boy.

The orgasm and peeing your pants was enough.

The statements that she made back 24 years ago WERE RACIST. She knows and acknowledges they were wrong.

When the news came out, a limited amount of tape was pretty much what EVERYONE, included the WH, was going on. I am guilty of being misinformed as many others were as well. The difference between you and me fat boy, is I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong, mistaken, ill-informed.

She realized the error of her way and further acknowledged it that day this last March in her speech, which we did not initially hear.

As soon as I heard on FOX NEWS, that further evidence was uncovered and in fact important pieces of that speech were left out that would explain fully what she was saying, I came on here and said there seems to be some unfairness here (I am paraphrasing, so don't have another orgasm PRicky).

That does not mean that I do not believe what she said back then wasn't racist, because it was.

If you don't like my timing, or don't like that I reacted to news in a hasty fashion, then kindly take this quarter and call someone who cares, because in the end PRicky, as usual you're all gassed up and still puttering out.

You've been around message boards long enough to know that both sides have been guilty of reacting too swiftly to news, and our President of these United States is one of the biggest offenders.

Go blow his email up.

By the way FAT BOY. The day you think I will run and hide will be the day you get a woman to look at you again with anything that even resembles lust.

When you're done biatch slapping, the bitch known as zippy, make sure you wash your hands; because you don't want to keep that sweaty/greasy feeling for to long.

Folks on the right seemed to leap before they looked on this one, too.

Actually, it was Glenn Beck who examined the entire context of her speech, and asked why the White House was demanding she resign! It was Charles Krauthammer who backed him up... so where do you get the right "leaped before they looked" here? If it hadn't been for the right, poor Shirley would have vanished beneath the Obama Express by now, and we wouldn't be talking about this. It was the right who called attention to the overreaction of the administration, and caused them to have to spend most of today, fixing the damage of their own incompetent actions.

The ADMINISTRATION leaped before they looked, as they have been known to do before!

Actually, it was the Atlanta Journal Constitution that got to the bottom of this and everyone else followed. Personally, I called the Breitbart piece bullshit from the get go. Now, credit where credit is due, Beck and a lot of other right-wing personalities have admitted that this woman got railroaded, but that was long after the AJC article and a whole lot of criticism, left and right.

As for my comment, I get that folks on the right leaped before they looked by, I dunno, reading the "NAACP member racist comments" thread and a whole shitload of right-wing bloggers slobbering all over the Breitbart piece.

Lastly, we've already covered that the administration leaped before they looked. They uncritically accepted Breitbart's dishonest garbage and got burned.

There were only one person and an entity calling for her resignation over this: The White House and the The USDA director Vilsack.

What specifically was bullshit about his piece, Nigel?

You mean other than failing to provide essential context to judge the content of the story and thereby turning a story of overcoming racial biases to promote charitable work for the poor regardless of race and intentionally leaving readers with the erroneous impression that a government official was currently denying government benefits to white people on the basis of race?

The "context" of Breitbart's story is irrelevant to what the White House SHOULD have done! They damn sure shouldn't be depending on Andrew Breitbart to factcheck the details of something, and take action based on that!

As for his point, and what he attempted to illustrate, he was spot on. The woman admitted on the video that what she did (in 1986) was wrong, it was racist, and she repented for that. Breitbart's point was to show the hypocrisy of the NAACP, which he did do! The "racist" view she held in 1986 was NEVER something Breitbart or anyone else on the right was trying to illustrate or point out. You (and the administration) took it in the wrong context, as usual. Now you're desperately trying to spin this as something to blame on Breitbart and the right, when it was the ADMINISTRATION who overreacted and didn't check their facts!

No, I mean the part where his intent was to demonstrate the NAACP's hypocrisy. The NAACP, which has consistently tried to demonize the tea party as racists without ever once providing proof of the allegations they hurled. To this very day they cannot and have not provided the proof that "Nigger" was called at those tea party events, and that the spitting incident ever occurred either.

Here the NAACP sponsors an event where a woman speaks of an incident where she knowingly wrestles with discriminating against a white person because she believes he thinks he's better than her, and wants to tell him to see a lawyer of his "own kind", and the crowd laughs and cheers this on and she does nothing to stop them as she goes on to explain she was wrong? This isn't the height of hypocrisy given the false and unverified accusations hurled by them against the Tea Party?

The facts of what she said and how the crowd reacted speak for themselves. That she believed in hindsight, or after the fact it was wrong thinking while laudable, does little to nothing to address that reaction.

The most troubling thing for you should be how easily riled your Messiah gets and how foolhardy he looks at apparently his penchant to say "how high" once FoxNews tells him to "JUMP!".

The White House is trying furiously to distance themselves from this, while Ms. Sherrod was very clear the evening of her resignation that it was the White House who wanted her resignation. So badly so she was forced to pull over and tender her resignation on the god damn phone.

You go ahead and feel all comfortable with Obama's hand on the panic button. I can leap to the wrong conclusion and hurt no one. Your man holds the fate of our country in his hands and Fox News causes him to pee his pants at the least provocation.

BOO!

Actually, the Glenn Beck program aired some 12 hours before the AJC was published, and Krauthammer's comments came 11 hrs. before. So you are flat out WRONG about this. A thread by a poster on the message board is hardly what I would consider "The Right" and sort of insignificant compared to THE WHITE HOUSE... no offense to Ice Dancer!

But then... ID was absolutely right, as was Breitbart, the comments she made ADMITTED she was racist in 1986, and the NAACP thought that was just splendid, going by their response, before they learned of her repentance. THAT was the point Breitbart was making, it was about the NAACP's hypocrisy, and NOT what Shirley Sherrod admitted in her confession.
