There are some rights that are just too important to let states decide, abortion is one of those.
Sorry, but that’s backassward. The Constitution is to limit the Federal government and protect the rights of all Americans…all of our unalienable rights….or “inalienable” if you are a RWNJ.
Unfortunately, both major US political parties are following an authoritarian ideology where they get that backwards: They both believe that the Federal government gives us our rights and, therefore, whoever is in power can dictate the rights of all Americans. This ranges from rights to one’s own body, but it abortion or drugs, to what people believe or can own.
The purpose of government is to protect the unalienable rights of Americans and to resolve disputes between conflicting rights. Example: I have a right to swing my fist as much as I like but I have no right to intimidate others with it or strike them with it since that affects their rights.
Both the 9th and 10th still apply. Do you think government is supposed to limit our rights or to protect our rights, Earl? So, the Tenth Amendment no longer applies.
The Supremes (sic) don't agree with you.
