The SCOTUS is about to overturn Roe V Wade.

I totally agree the Republicans are going to get hurt if this goes through.

They have nothing else. They have no solutions to the real issues people face today -- inflation, housing costs, supply chain issues, student loan debt, medical expenses, daycare, the pandemic, etc So they opted for making CRT, "grooming", and other fucking nonsense what they run on.

The sad thing is far too many of our fellow citizens will fall for it.

Because that was the way the US was intended to work from the start. Why should someone in Alabama have completely different gun rights than someone in Massachusetts?
Women have absolutely no rights if you read the original Constitution and blacks were only 3/5th a person. The Constitution is not a perfect document.

Just like before roe v wade

The wealthy send their daughters to Europe

Poor people die on back ally’s

Abortion doesn’t stop

It just kills slot of people

Next they will go after birth control of all kinds

Then gay marriage

Then mixed race marriages

Then women’s voting

And black people voting

March backwards in history!

Oh, yeah - that'll be an easy trip for a working single mother who is paycheck-to-paycheck and can't afford to even take a day off.[/QUOTA womans choice is just that. A womans choice. demoracts and them alone have made this into a policial issue. If only ever singe on of them would practice what they preach,,,,,

All of those poor babies that are going to be born now because the mothers can't afford to travel for abortions? They'll all be voters someday.

So why wouldn't she be using some means on contraception already? That truly baffles me to be honest, it also doesn't explain why 45% of abortions are repeats.

We found that 45% of patients reported having one or more prior abortions. Age was most strongly associated with this outcome, and patients aged 30 and older had more than two times the odds of having had a prior abortion compared with those aged 20–24. Other characteristics associated with an increased likelihood of prior abortion included having one or more children, being black, relying on insurance or financial assistance to pay for the procedure, and exposure to disruptive events in the last 12 months. Characteristics associated with a decreased likelihood of having a prior abortion included having a college degree and living 25 or more miles from the facility where the current abortion was obtained.

Don't get me wrong I'm in favour of abortion by and large but truly dismayed at the extent of it still in the 21st century. I'm sure that the majority of R v W supporters in 1973 expected it to be an archaic practice by now.

I can far see more of a argument for a naive teen cajoled into sex by peer pressure coupled with cheap booze needing an abortion.

Well, Republicans have always opposed good sex education, too.

But there are many reasons women get pregnant when they don't intend to. For starters, no birth control is 100% effective.

It doesn't matter. It's a dark ages mentality to force a woman to carry a fetus to term.
