The right cancels Kimmel

What did the charge read?

Oh wait, there was no charge - no action. Just an off the cuff remark on a talk show.

Unlike the prolonged war Obama/Biden waged on Murdoch and Fox - there was no action at all in regard to Kibbles and Bits. He sucks, and Disney was losing a fortune on his failed show. It was long overdue to cancel him.
Yes, there was a threat by the FCC for speech that didn't violate an FCC regulation. You're ok with that? You're ok with the federal government threatening people/businesses with consequences for using legal, protected speech?

Public airwaves are irrelevant and broadcast TV rapidly dying. Kimmel got the shit kicked out of him every single night by Greg Gutfield, who isn't broadcast at all. He is on cable, and streaming - no presence on the FCC controlled airwaves.
that is simply not true. Many people in large cities rely exclusively on over the air content.

Nope - that is a lie.

Comments were made on a talk show. No correspondence to ABC or Disney from the FCC. Certainly no threats.

Since what you claim is a lie - there is nothing to be okay with. If any action had been taken by the FCC - I would oppose it. But none was.

The government was threatening FCC action. Can you explain why?

"Certainly no threats"

These were the FCC Chair's comments:

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take actions on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”
And speaking on Fox Wednesday night, Carr suggested broadcasters would see more of this kind of pressure in the future.

“We at the FCC are going to force the public interest obligation. There are broadcasters out there that don’t like it, they can turn in their license in to the FCC,” Carr said. “But that’s our job. Again, we’re making some progress now.”

You are so dishonest, I'm actually embarrassed for you.

Again, Gutfield who has double Kimmel's viewership is not on broadcast over the air.

In fact, only a paltry 19% of Americans watch television from the airwaves at all. A number that declines each year. In fact, the old networks are watched more through cable and streaming hookups than they are from over the air receivers.

On a talk show. Not an order to ABC, not a legal pleading, not even a memo.

Just remarks on a talk show.

The FCC took no action whatsoever. Disney cancelled a perpetually low rated show.

19% represent 29,260,000 voters in 2024

A right-winger is now in charge of the FCC though, and he threatened ABC and their parent company...

This is trump and MAGA shutting down all opposition to them.

Nothing less than a Stalinist takeover of America and the idiots are all cheering for it.
The Orange Jesus is solidifying his dictatorship to the wild applause of all MAGAts. Is it really any wonder that if the civil war comes, all of these fuckers need to be treated like ISIS terrorists seeking to destroy our Republic? No cruelty. Just a fair trial and a fair hanging.

There isn't a GoFundMe page created by Democrats for Luigi; instead, GoFundMe removed fundraisers for Luigi Mangione, the man accused of murdering the CEO of UnitedHealth Group, due to their terms of service. Supporters have since moved the fundraiser to a different platform, GiveSendGo, and it has amassed over $1 million through a group called the December 4th Legal Committee, with support coming from progressive critics of the healthcare industry.

How much money have these far left losers raised for the shooter of Charlie Kirk?
Let them waste their money!

Yes, that's how the government censors people without actually doing anything. Neither ABC, Sinclair, etc wants to fight with Trump's government, so they fire Kimmel because it's much easier to do that than spend millions of dollars and hundreds of hours fighting the federal government.

The point is, the FCC shouldn't be publicly commenting on individuals or individual business. If the government acted professionally, and wasn't run by a Mafia boss, they'd address any concerns privately and conduct an investigation if necessary.
