Virtually NONE of the Ten Commandments are observed by following Christianity. In fact, Jesus outright teaches against following the Commandments -- especially with regard to punishment (e.g. stoning).
NOBODY is ABLE to fully obey the LAW. This why God made the made the path to salvation by grace through faith. The LAW was given to show and convict us of our sins. Abraham and the Prophets of the Old Testament knew and believed this...way before the 10 Commandments were given.
And He took him outside and said, "Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be." Then he
believed in the LORD; and the Lord reckoned it to him as righteousness."
Genesis 15: 5-6
Jesus Christ said, "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to
fulfill it."
Matthew 5:17
And when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they themselves gathered together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested Him with a question: “Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?”
Jesus declared, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind'. This is the
first and greatest commandment. And the
second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself'.
All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments."
Matthew 22: 34-40
As far as punishment? If you live by the sword, you will die by the sword.
The woman at the well did not kill anybody, there was no reason for a death sentence.
The Betrayal of Jesus
While Jesus was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest Him.” Going directly to Jesus, he said, “Greetings, Rabbi,” and kissed Him.
“Friend,” Jesus replied, “do what you came for.”
Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus, and arrested Him. At this, one of Jesus’ companions drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him.
“For all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Are you not aware that I can call on My Father, and He will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
At that time Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would an outlaw? Every day I sat teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest Me. But this has all happened so that the writings of the prophets would be fulfilled.”
