Then why change the race of a character who's been around for about 30 years if it's not about politics?
I could not care less.
Then why change the race of a character who's been around for about 30 years if it's not about politics?
It's at 414 million on a 250 million budget.
Then why change the race of a character who's been around for about 30 years if it's not about politics?
So what if that’s true?
I think, however, it’s for economic reasons…
Remakes rarely do as well as The Little Mermaid did…
21st century conservatism isn't a serious political ideology.
They don't have any of their own original and independent policy ideas.
It's a grievance and resentment psychology.
All they do is complain about what Democrats are doing.
The last time message board conservatives enthusiastically proposed and defended their own policy position was when they hollered at me that invading Iraq was going to be an awesome idea.
Disney has been flopping on pretty much everything lately with their diversity stance.
This show actually made them a little bit of money back.
However, that's because of the history of the little mermaid, not because they diversified.
I bet you if they make a follow up it won't be nearly successful.
I'm betting most kids going to see it didn't even know they changed Ariel into a black.
The modern version of the old person screaming at kids on the sidewalk is the kook watching whack job media screaming about how diversity, wokeness and transgender people are making his life miserable!
Disney changed my favorite kids movie by having dark skinned mermaids!
Movies are not politics. They're just trying to make money from entertainment.
They often are when the Left gets involved.
When did capitalists become leftists?
Nobody has to include diversity, Disney simply chooses to do so.
And they are raking money in by doing so.
I’ve always been a leftist.
“A black”
Ok, sorry but Disney crushed it coming in 7th with something that’s already been done.

Go woke. Go broke.
Nobody but the Left likes the Left, and if being politically correct to the Left is your business model you just cut up to 80%+ of the population out of it.
Coming in seventh isn't crushing anything.
This should have been a billion dollar movie.
It would be like turning Mufasa into a Zebra.
People don't want that.
Name recognition alone allowed this movie to squeak by with a small profit.
But the mermaid movie helped not hurt the situation. They made money with the black mermaid!
What remake ever beat almost 200 million ever?
What remake ever beat almost 200 million ever?
You are intentionally conflating Disney overall profits (losing money) with the mermaid movie (making profits).
