Robin Williams, Peter Pan was intentionally much more diverse than the original. It was also a very different story. Secondly, it’s been out for decades raking money in to go towards the total, the mermaid movie hasn’t been out 6 months yet.
How do you know it is for political purposes? Perhaps it was the best actor that auditioned for the role. In a colorblind society, the person playing the part should be based on talent, not whether they have white skin. Were you part of the audition process?
Maybe it's about talent. Maybe no white actress was good enough to play the part. Shouldn't you be complaining that they didn't cast a cartoon character?
She really had an amazing singing voice.

It's the way corporations and the corporate media bend over and spread their asses for those people.
The way they fall all over themselves to fawn over them.

If everyone would shut up about their ethnicity and sexuality, everyone would be happy.
If Hollywood wants to make movies about black transgenders or whatever, go ahead and do it.

Dr. King’s race is a part of the story, the mermaids race is not relevant to the story(mermaids don’t even have a race). You are stupid if you can’t see that, but I would not care, I might think it was silly.
I know they changed the “original” from cartoon to reality, should you be crying?

I already did. I put a list of the top 10 money makers in remake movies. The top two cleared a billion +. Even the bottom end ones more than doubled the take of this version of the Little Mermaid.
