I'd love to see a study comparing average incomes, along with education, among various religious denominations.
Note that the militant atheists love to tout their superiority as a group, but as individuals, they are often liars and poorly educated as commonly proved on JPP. IMO, it's the "quiet" atheists who are well educated.
Further, atheists love to include Buddhists in their numbers and, as the stats proved, most people of Asian descent are well educated soooo........
Agreed that most Western IQ tests only measure part of overall human intelligence. Specifically the 3 R's.
There undoubtedly are Hollywood stars and urban hipsters practicing Buddhist meditation techniques, but that's an Americanized watered-down version of wannabe-Buddhism.
The historic Buddhism, and the types of Buddhism widely practiced across Asia definitely accept that there are divine agents and transcendental planes of reality.
Being primary young white men living in rich western countries, I am not surprised that atheists tend to be better educated than Catholics, for example.
I'm not sure there are any genuine atheists on this board, who actually live out atheism to it's logical conclusion. I was told yesterday by atheists that everything you need to know about atheism is found in an eight word dictionary definition.
That strangely ignores the fact that there is a rich literary tradition of seminal atheists writing books about what it really means to adopt the atheist belief system.
Atheism, as practiced and taken to it's logical conclusion, includes these philosophical beliefs in it's belief system:
1) Strict physical materialism -- all of life, the universe, and everything can be adequately explained by the motions of inanimate matter and energy.
2) Moral relativism -- there are no objectively true moral standards, there is no absolute good and evil, values of behavior are strictly determined by culture or by opinion.
3) Scientism -- a belief that science is the only source of truth.
