the last two GOP presidents lost the popular vote, stole office

The rightys and Repubs wanted to get rid of it as badly as Dems did.
Apparently not enough of them, since it didn't happen...

Once they found out that it advantaged them, they spun 180.
It doesn't 'advantage' anyone. It just means that the Democrats of today can't win solely with the electoral votes from California and New York. They need to win over electors from a few other states too... you know... the states which they routinely ignore ("flyover country")...

It is an anachronism that has outlived its original intent.
Why doesn't it belong anymore? What was its original intent? Why isn't it performing its original intent anymore?

It was not designed to permit minority rule.
Presidents are NOT selected by popular vote, Nordberg. They are selected by electors. The majority of electors voted for Donald Trump, so he became President. That's how Presidential elections work, Nordberg...

But if it allows a Red to enter the whitehouse, then they suddenly love it.
It's a good system. It gives each state a voice, instead of only the most populous states. It also divides up how federal representatives are selected (instead of solely by popular vote for everybody).

its almost as if they knew there would be a Los Angeles......

If you got any more stupid, we would have to carve an S in your forehead.

that you don't understand why our forefathers were smarter than you, is of no consequence to any of us.
they protected us from dumbasses basically.

LA indeed,

so you'd be fine with LA and NYC, and Chicago and a few other places choosing who leads the entire country?

you friggin retard, go carve an S in your own forehead

for fu@ks sake I'm conversing with retards

the electoral college was genius ,
is genius
and always will be genius

our forefathers were very insightful, forward thinking and fair

Perhaps the founders of our nation foresaw a circumstance in which a party with a regional majority might try to disenfranchise less-populated states.

High five for you and the Constitution and the wisdom of the Founding Fathers.

Absolutely correct!

The Constitution plainly lays out how Presidents are elected...

No it doesn't, it left it up to the States to decide how the electoral vote in their State was to be decided, no where in the Constitution does it specified a "winner take all" approach, in fact, several States are moving away from this model
