You asked me if our project used it. We didn't.

The problem you have with frantically Googling for 30 seconds, is that is not nearly good enough for you to become informed on a topic --> Vitrinite reflectance is not the only method for assessing thermal maturation.

Actually it would be FAR more likely to use Ro and/or illite crystallinity for that but your googling ran all the way to "fission track apatite".

Tell me, Dr. Cypress, how much APATITE did you find in the mudstones? Were you using fission track?

I thought this was floodplain deposits. Lots of apatite sources there? Do tell! (I know you won't because you can't but it's fun to lead you on. Give you time to google it)


Do you have ANY clue why I might have jumped on illite crystallinity when you said "mudstone"? No?

Yes, @Dutch Uncle claims to have had an NDE. Not surprising, people claim this a lot. But Dutch's NDE he also insists was from some event in which he was NOT near death. I asked him about it and he insisted his life wasn't in danger.

It was just so confusing and hilarious.
