Thanks for the scolding, Your Holiness. Now, let me give you a crash course on Catholic teaching since you missed so much. The church is against capital punishment; the church considers Muslims to be saved ("But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Moslems: these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day"); the church supports unions and workers; the church puts the needs of the poor and vulnerable first; the church believes that the economy is to serve the people, not the other way around; the church says we have a fundamental duty to protect the environment; the church forbids euthanasia, cloning, embryonic stem cell research and artificial birth control; the church says war should be avoided except as a last resort; etc, etc. In fact, the Church is more liberal than conservative on many issues but those aren't the issues conservatives support.
So Pope Francis, how many Catholics do you know who toe this party line 100%? My guess is, none. The next time you want to come at a Catholic with your pronouncements about black & white and picking and choosing, you'd better come armed, because you just struck out big time.
Here is Salvation in Christianity. Which one of these do the Muslims believe? Answer is none because they deny the divinity of Jesus Christ. Your supposition about how, " The church is against capital punishment; the church considers Muslims to be saved" means nothing. I suggest next time you educate yourself before making such outlandish and false statements.
Mark 1:15 "The time is here, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
1Cor 15:1-4 The gospel is that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and then He was resurrected on the third day.
Romans 4:25-5:2 He was delivered over to death for our sins and then was raised to life to put us right with God. By faith in this, then, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
Romans 10:9-11 If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are put right with God, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame."
1 John 1:3-4 That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. We write these things to you that your joy may be full.
I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6
I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. John 15:1-8
