The Ideal Political Party

Well, how much do you pay? $100,000 a year? One month paid vacation? Full employer paid medical benefits? Full employer sponsored pension plan? Please elaborate. This is your chance to show us how you walk the walk. If you don't do all of the things I have outlined, please explain why you do not. Thank you

You've got me confused with someone who needs a chance to show you anything. Who cares what you believe?

SERIOUSLY, who the fuck cares?

You have yet to offer one sane, coherent post to this conversation.

If you don't mind, I'd rather stick to talking to the adults.

The problem with political parties is that the easiest way to rally a group of diverse people is to give them a common enemy. Whether the methods are factual or invented, if you give them an enemy they will stick together.

That is what has happened with the 2 big political parties in this country. This is why both sides resort to spouting lies to rally the people against the other side.
Yes, that is a fundamental principle of politics. Machiavelli pointed that out in The Prince. Political parties do have their advantages though.

:0)

In our art business the only other employee is my wife .. and she takes the lions share of everything. :0(

In the IT business I pay a fair wage. I do not split the profits.

That isn't what socialism is .. if that's what you meant.

first, thanks for the reply... I really was just curious.

The first one made me laugh regarding her taking the lions share.

I guess I am off on my recollection of what socialism is then. I thought it was everyone working towards the success of the business (in this case, overall economy in others) and sharing in the wealth created from said business in very similar (if not equal) manner.

First rule is to have a government that the people control.

True, but the inherent problem with a democracy becomes evident when the people realize they can elect those who will give them 'free' things (ie... politicians who stick the future generations with the bill)

Yeah sure. The "inherent' problem with a democracy becomes evident when the corporations and super-rich realize they can buy those who will give them free things and stick it to the rest of us.

1) Corporations are pieces of paper

2) The people who run the corporation are the same as those that ask for other 'entitlements' (the ones the current generation doesn't pay for). They want the government to give them stuff and to pass the bill on to others. Same goes for the wealthy who ask for tax breaks etc... It is all the same thing.

It would be the same thing if everyone had a seat at the table and the volume of each 'voice' was equal.

The representatives are supposed to be representatives of The People. However, they are lobbied by special interests incessantly. Lobbyists buy favors and votes. They guarantee lucrative jobs to the representative in the private sector in exchange for fulfilling favors.

Individuals have the same sway and influence? Cite an example of that.
