The GOP's fear of truth

Democrats aren't in a good place right now, and they really need to find themselves again as a party. But they're still head & shoulders above a party that no longer values truth or knowledge.

Republicans in the past few years conjure images from authoritarian regimes of the past that we thought we had moved beyond:
- Burning books
- Afraid of acknowledging the reality that some are born and live their lives attracted to the same sex
- Terrified of teaching aspects of American history that don't make us look like heroes
- Creating myths and fabrications about an election because they can no longer accept losing
- Downplaying a pandemic and discouraging vaccines with fearmongering and misinformation

Even w/ something like the Ukraine, we hear some conservatives actually parroting Putin's desperate rhetoric that the Ukraine leaders are "Nazis" and trying to downplay the evil of Putin's actions.

We're in the post-truth era, and the right is leading the charge.

Moonshi'ite, the forum's most devoted Putin arselicker is a Marxist ffs. All you ever do is parrot talking points, you're pathetic.

That is not the reason they will retake it Bartender. One thing this country can always count on is when democrats get control of anything they fuck themselves over with it. This time is no different.

Bush Sr., Bush Jr. & Trump left office w/ Recessions.

Clinton led us to huge prosperity, and Obama to the longest modern recovery. Biden is following suit.

Republicans will win because the party out of power always does in the midterms. And the lies.

None of that is really true. You are a democrat though. Very gullible and not that intelligent. Just remember though you are certainly not alone. Have a good evening.

LOL

That response is hilarious. It's 100% true, but I get that we're in the post-truth era. I mean, it's all completely verifiable - we have a record of what things were like economically when EVERY Republican President left office.

Denial of reality. It's what the GOP is about these days.

Conservatives have to be getting self-conscious about the economic thing. It's such a repetitive pattern over decades now.

Republican President crashes economy & leaves office w/ Recession. Democrat leads recovery & prosperity.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

True. And none of it matches up to your democrat fantasy. Once again, it is all right though. If you have Guno thanking you it is a sure sign you are wrong again.

So, before we start posting links & actual facts, let's just get this straight: it's your contention that Bush, GW & Trump did NOT leave office during an economic downturn & recession?

As a result of the GOP apparently attempting to normalize its barbaric lies, fail to understand the truth is always there and a reality that rises above the GOP gutter of lies.

DOJ is not a separate branch of government you stupid asshole. It is part of the Executive. Please stop being a stupid blathering asshole.

Police departments aren't separate parts of the city government, but agencies separately responsible for enforcing the criminal law and local ordinances. A mayor who ordered a police chief to
arrest a political rival would be out of bounds and courting his own political ruin. The same is true of the separate relationship between state police and state government.

Nor was Biden, like every President, elected for his expertise on criminal law.

Biden is absolutely correct to stay out of it. Garland isn't a baby. It's on him if DOJ does nothing. But let the Justice Department be what's it supposed to be, about justice.

No. The AG is hired by the President. It is not the fourth branch of government.
