The GOP's continued war on women.

I worked seven years on full commissoin. That is about as entrepreneurial as you can get. It can be a tough way to make a living. Some great highs with long stretches of lows. I worked with some tough tough woman who kicked *ss first and asked questions later and made large amounts of money. Now I understand most jobs aren't on a commission only basis but I know these women I worked with/competed with aren't the only women like that. I have no problem paying a woman more than a man in a heartbeat if I feel she will do a better job.

It's not about top talent. Top talent will always negotiate their own compensation packages. You're conflating aggressive and talented sales people with the majority of the work force. Women still haven't reached compensation parity with men. Now if we buy into your view then we would have to conclude that women simply can't compete with men on a level playing field. Wouldn't it be pretty for men to believe so?

the facts are women are paid less than men for the exact same work period. In jobs like accounting, administrative, shipping, etc. Sales is completely different, and I'd advise any woman to steer towards sales if she wants to routinely wipe the floor with male competitors, sneer at them as peanut vendors, and make a lot of money. Provided she can be aggressive, is confident, and has a great personality and ability to charm people.

Not even a majority of people possess all of those qualities. Pay parity is not about sales and its superstars, and the field they compete on which while still sexist, allows for women who know how to navigate that minefield to outperform men.

It's about the warehouse and accounts payable. It's about where most people work.

I don't really call the business world utopia but it is something different to each individual. Would you like to cite your $0.77 claim?

The wage gap remained statistically unchanged in the last year. Women's earnings were 77.4 percent of men's in 2010, compared to 77.0 percent in 2009, according to Census statistics released September 13, 2011 based on the median earnings of all full-time, year-round workers. Both men's and women's earnings showed slight increases from 2009 to 2010 with men's at $47,715 and women's at $36,931, a difference of $10,784. Fifty years ago women earned 61 percent of what men earned, a Census official noted in releasing the data.

Gatorman was claiming the $0.77 for the exact same job. Your link is saying what women and men earn in general.

If a company is advertising for an analyst position and offering $75k for the job and then decides to hire a woman for the position and pay her $70k well I do not understand what the hell the company would be thinking.

If in general men make more than woman because of the pay of the jobs men take is higher well that is different I have no problem with that if people are choosing the jobs where they want to work.

So you're excusing all this pay disparity with jobs of lower wage and salary to start with? Then why all these laws and lawsuits? Why even keep up with it? Ignoramus.

Why don't you read what she posted in her link and compare it to what you stated previously. There might even be others out there like myself who could learn from your genius.

My genius speaks for itself. I don't need or desire additional verification or validity. And I didn't come here to educate jerks like you. I will, however, guide you into self education.

Why do I have to be a jerk? That's not very nice. What have I done to you?

No, cawacko, I am the jerk. You have done nothing to deserve that. Anything I say would be an excuse but please accept my apology. I WILL be more careful in the future. You have been nothing other than kind and respectful towards me.

Cawacko I wept when I read this. I think Baby Jesus wept too. Write me if you need to talk. I care.

;)

And here we go again....jackasses trying to double talk their way to discriminate against someone in order to feed their self delusions of superiority.

ANYONE who hooks their political/social wagon to Scott Walker might as well take a 30 pound dumbbell with them as they jump into the deep end of the pool.

Well, according to the GAO women are now making .80 for every 1.00 men make. Close, but no cigar when it comes to equality.

Let's be clear.....we're talking about a woman making 20 cents less than a man for pushing the same amount of paper in an office. That's just one venue.

Walker has been nailed as a disingenuous person who operates on an ideology that is NOT conducive to the growth and well being of all citizens. His term in office in Wisconsin has become a sort of litmus test of the neocon/teabagger agenda for this country....and that recall vote is coming for 'em!

I saw him interviewed on TV where he said emphatically that collective bargaining was not a right. The man is unfit for public office.
