Let's go at this another way. What are you doing to mitigate your carbon footprint? Would you go as far as getting rid of your electronic devices as they contribute greatly to pollution requiring fossil fuels to produce and electricity to run. Would you move into a 100 sq/foot flat?
What have you done?
Me? I don't do anything. I use the resources I want, when I want. I have a huge carbon footprint and I love every second of it. It is clear that we aren't going to change each others mind on this issue, which is what makes life grand. We are all free to have our own opinions on these issues. I think from a compromise standpoint, we can come up with a solution. I will list those things I have that drive up my carbon footprint and you can try to offset it.
I have a Chevy Tahoe 5.3L
I have a GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L
I have a Ford F250 Powerstroke Diesel for hauling
I have four snow mobiles
I have six four wheelers for mountain trails
I burn wood, but I also have solar and hydro for electrical purposes for my off grid property.
Let's start there ok puddin pop?
I live in a society obviously much more civilised than yours. I do not own any car. I have no need to 'haul' anything. Most of our taxis, which are quite cheap, run on LPG. Many company vehicles (large corps) are electric. There is no need for us to burn anything at all but should we come across a wandering yank we might make an exception.
So my carbon footprint is already very small and I dont even try.
Do you want me to be impressed by the fact that you have all those 'vee-hickles'? OK. I am. very impressed. very very impressed. How long will it be before you are old enough to drive them?
