Because people like Joy Reid will tell you sometimes. But that is the point that Charlie Kirk was making when you see a Black airline pilot or a Black neuro-surgeon you wonder if they got there through DEI or merit. That isn't fair to Black people like Ben Carson that got their position through merit and not by the color of their skin. If I'm going to put my life in the hands of someone I like knowing they got their job through merit regardless of what color their skin is.
