Indeed. It's nearly as shameful as gaining a PhD in Education. I once met a lawyer who, because their degree is a JD (Juris Doctor) that meant he should be called "doctor"... I told him that there is an actual PhD in Law that he should get before he started in on that tack.

I usually tell them, that their degree is nothing but a simple liberal arts degree that makes them little more than glorified secretaries filling out paperwork...
Last time I was in court, one of the kids had a dispute over his child support, and I lit into her liar... err, lawyer... with how his lack of knowledge of statistics having a simple liberal arts degree in history or political science made him unprepared to know what he was asking made even the judge laugh at him...
