Texas sues Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania over election fraud

granted, our SCOTUS has always had a tendency to torture the interpretation of interstate commerce to exert federal dominance over everything, but even this would be a stretch

This is not an interstate commerce issue. The Constitution gives Congress the power to change regulations regarding voting, but that does not apply to this case:

"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators."

Transparency is not a problem.

There is no transparency problem that Paxton's lawsuit is addressing.

Until you you have clear and convincing evidence of fraud, which you do not have, then it's clear that this is not about fraud but about trying to attack democracy and the process by which we elect Presidents. Simply having suspicion is not a reason to overturn elections.

Trump is very prescient man.

He also claimed the 2012 elections was fraudulent and that he got more popular votes in 2016 than Hillary. He never had evidence of any of those and I don't think he cared. It was just stirring up the troops by making them believe they were victims of the evil media, deep state, and liberals.

Then you're aware that lots of people on both sides have argued, for a very long time, that our election process is not secure.

interesting and I think SCOTUS will take it up as their exclusive purview to rule on interstate disputes
But i dont expect any remedy from SCOTUS no matter the finding

This is not an interstate dispute.

The Supreme Court's original jurisdiction to hear disputes between states is for things like state boundaries. Texas has no standing to argue against another state's internal election procedures.

No problem, It's a deal.

You have to apply the same standard in every county and for every signature. Then you also have to apply the same standard to every voter that signed the poll book.

But then to meet the court standard of clear and convincing evidence since your idea of what is a signature match is subjective, any signatures you think don't match require you to track down the voter and check with them if that is their signature.

And then once you have found the exact number of ballots where someone signed and the voter claims they didn't vote, the only way you can adjust the final vote totals is to use a statistical analysis which will reduce the votes for each candidate by the percentage of the votes they received since there is no way to track the ballots.

All of this will result in the same candidates winning. So go ahead and waste your time and money. I look forward to your final result of a couple of dozen signatures where a voter says they didn't vote.

This one hasn't been rejected yet, and they gave the states being named until tomorrow to respond.

Honestly, I'm not feeling good about this one until inauguration day. Trump is bad at just about everything - but he knows how to win.

As long as the media is covering it (it gives them good stories and ratings) and the people are discussing it and social media is filled with it I think it has served its desired purpose. Any legal wins are just unexpected extras.

--media attention
--$500 million+ raised for "legal defense" going to campaign debt and Trump's PAC
--reinforces partisan division and support for each side in elections and fundraising
--pushes the Trump "brand"

Sure, there are obvious problems. But none of them have been able to prove large-scale fraud. We catch and prosecute individuals but almost all are smaller races.

The 2018 NC House race was overturned because the Republican consultant running the campaign cheated using mail ballots. But nobody could find 2 million illegal votes Trump claimed in 2016.

Most of the stuff in 2020 can be disproven by you and me sitting in front of our laptops--like the claim by Trump and many other Republicans (Linbaugh, Hannity) that more people voted than were registered in certain cities/counties. That is easy to check. If 60% of registered voters turned out that was usually high.

AND YOU THINK THIS IS A LEGITIMATE RESPONSE AND GOOD REPUBLICAN STRATEGY?

BLAHAHAHAHAHA!

DO you actually know how TEXANS are going to respond to this in our next Governor race in this state?

THIS IS ONLY GOING TO PUT TEXAS ON THE FAST TRACK TO TURNING THIS STATE FROM RED TO BLUE!

This is an embarrassment for REPUBLICANS and will only result in more Democrats across the nation.

THIS IS A FULL HEAD-ON ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY AND IT WILL BE VIEWED BY ALL AMERICANS AS SUCH.

DO NOT EVER COUNT ON TEXAS TO WIN THE PRESIDENCY FOR REPUBLICANS EVER AGAIN!

It isn’t going anywhere, total political move to keep the election fraud fabrications alive

All of these States have already certified their elections, the electors have been selected and forwarded to Congress, as we saw in 2000, Harbor day is biggie with the Supreme Court, and there is nothing here that hasn’t been raised before, if yesterday is an indication, if it even got to the Court it would be a fifteen minute exercise

""... Brickman alleges she also observed a number of other irregularities, like failure to correctly match signatures.

“Signature verification standards were constantly being lowered by supervisors in order to move more quickly and process the higher amount of early and mail-in ballots,” said Brickman.

“From the 15 points of similarities reduced to a minimum of three, lowered to one, and ultimately none.”

Brickman recalled that she was told to just pass each signature verification through.

She questioned the integrity of what she reportedly observed, stating “this is not the way an election should be run.”

She also said ballots were passed through even though signatures on the envelope did not match the signature or even the name on the ballot. She says she witnessed different ballots allegedly showing the same handwriting on the envelopes."

There are hundreds of very similar stories from a just a few key counties. Just the testimony of dozens adds up to over 700,000 improperly processed votes in Maricopa and Pima counties. And there is similar evidentiary testimony involving over 800,000 votes in Pa..

I can't wait to see Texas' AG's evidence of the fraud perpetrated by the other states.

Your honor, I don't like what they did over there in their state.
What did they do.
They let Bioden win.
Whats wrong with that.
We don't like that.

Uh OK. Next witness?

You might want to read the unanimous Arizona Supreme Court decision on this. They summarily dismiss all your bluster as providing no evidence that would change the election results even if true.

Two GOP handwriting experts examined a sample of ballot signatures and while 6 - 11 were inconclusive -
"neither expert could identify any sign of forgery or simulation and neither could provide any basis to reject the signatures."

I can't find your quotes anywhere.

So how many signatures did these two experts examine and authenticate?

The ruling is only 7 pages long. The pages have a large font and are double spaced. Two of the pages only have 2 sentences or less. The ruling is less than 1300 words long.

And you couldn't find the quote?
