“Texas Could Vote to Secede From U.S. in 2023 as GOP Pushes for Referendum”

Oh, my bad, inherent right to own a gun, what’s the difference, both inane

Since you have such trouble with the English language, I can see why you might think 'inherent' means 'God'. It doesn't. I can't help you. You are going to have to learn English on your own.

Not about the Confederacy, sidestepper.

Texas v. White, (1869), U.S. Supreme Court case in which it was held that the United States is “an indestructible union” from which no state can secede.

You Trumpers twist and squirm like snakes under a rock.

The Supreme Court has no such authority to make such a ruling. The right to secede is inherent.

No need. He's already allowing aliens from all over the world to invade Texas, in violation of the US Constitution... Same with Arizona... Same with numerous other states. Plenty of these aliens have even invaded Wisconsin.

While true, if Texas were to secede, Texas would become responsible for it's own borders, and could use any and all means to protect them.

Hello archives,

So they want to be a tiny little nation at odds with a vastly superior nuclear-armed neighbor?

That doesn't sound like a very good position to be in.

But if that's what Texas Republicans vote for, it will come as no surprise.

And what good would nuking Texas do? Guarantee that The Oligarchy inherits a radioactive wasteland? Think, stupid.

That's been the trend since the Cold War ended; both parties have become more extreme in their politics with the Republicans the clear winner in the Kookiness Awards.

Since you consider supporting the Constitution of the United States (or the constitution of the State of Texas) kooky, you are only AGAIN showing your support for The Oligarchy and the Democrats.

You're one of those typical right-wingers who just keep repeating the same nonsense over and over whenever you don't have anything intelligent to say.

Not even worth arguing with.

Right, everyone has the right to shit, but that doesn’t mean they can exercise it anywhere they like

Appears “birdie” doesn’t understand the concept of the social contract, nor consequently that all rights are based upon reason and not desire

That does not mean you can limit or ban them. No, you cannot extend your argument that way. Extreme argument fallacy.

You are describing yourself yet again. Do you REALLY think your inversions are going to work?????!? :rofl2:

Texas seceding would be the greatest political event of my lifetime.
Love to see the fucking pachys lose those 38 electoral votes.

That would be the first good thing that I've seen Texans do since George Foreman regained the heavyweight title at age 45.
And that was an African American Texan, not somebody like Ironside Abbott.

The only inversion is your own....

Wow, Sybil. I'd love to chat on why you are wrong but you keep reporting me for Rule 14 violations every time I do so I can't. Sorry, dude.

Hello Dutch,

The recent Texas Republican Party platform is proof of their insanity.

https://www.texastribune.org/2022/06/18/republican-party-texas-convention-cornyn/
The new platform would call for:

  • Requiring Texas students “to learn about the humanity of the preborn child,” including teaching that life begins at fertilization and requiring students to listen to live ultrasounds of gestating fetuses.
  • Amending the Texas Constitution to remove the Legislature’s power “to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime.”
  • Treating homosexuality as “an abnormal lifestyle choice,” language that was not included in the 2018 or 2020 party platforms.
  • Deeming gender identity disorder “a genuine and extremely rare mental health condition,” requiring official documents to adhere to “biological gender,” and allowing civil penalties and monetary compensation to “de-transitioners” who have received gender-affirming surgery, which the platform calls a form of medical malpractice.
  • Changing the U.S. Constitution to cement the number of Supreme Court justices at nine and repeal the 16th Amendment of 1913, which created the federal income tax.
  • Ensuring “freedom to travel” by opposing Biden’s Clean Energy Plan and “California-style, anti-driver policies,” including efforts to turn traffic lanes over for use by pedestrians, cyclists and mass transit.
  • Declaring “all businesses and jobs as essential and a fundamental right,” a response to COVID-19 mandates by Texas cities that required customers to wear masks and limited business hours.
  • Abolishing the Federal Reserve, the nation’s central bank, and guaranteeing the right to use alternatives to cash, including cryptocurrencies.

SMH

Bizarre hateful stuff.

No big surprise.

Hello Phantasmal,

You have no idea everything that would be affected. Texas doesn’t have enough oil to sustain itself if the USA let them secede. The mass exodus from the state would be crippling. It’s crazy talk.

But, but bu...

They could build a wall on their Northern border and make Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico pay for it.

That does not mean you can limit or ban them. No, you cannot extend your argument that way. Extreme argument fallacy.

Extreme stupidity fallacy ^^^.

There is no right to unilaterally secede.

You rwnj's always love to spout off about enumerated rights and powers being the only ones that are valid while those that are not specifically addressed in the Constitution do not exist.

That is your rationale behind why gun rights are sacred and cannot be touched and why abortion rights are non-existent.

Yet here you are claiming a right to something that is not addressed by the Constitution.

By your twisted, hypocritical logic if there is a Constitutional right to secession, there is a Constitutional right to abortion.
