Here's the thing that most of you anti constitutionalists don't get though....
I'm not thrilled with the idea of the mosque/cultural center/whatever being built at or near ground zero, but I believe in the freedom of religion, therefore am not going to protest it's placement there nor am I going to hope and pray that the nanny state government violates their right to build there. I'm not thrilled with the idea of the quran burning, but it's most definitely a freedom of speech issue, therefore i'm not going to protest the spectacle/event nor am I going to hope and pray that the beloved government steps in to stop it. If the FBI or federal government in general has used some sort of coercion or threat of any legal action, THEN i'm going to protest loudly against the government.
I may not like what you say or do in the expression of your 1st Amendment rights, but i'm damn sure not going to let anyone step on your right to do so. I would HOPE that most people would do the same for me and my rights, but unfortunately I know all too well that most people are all about 'rights for me, none for thee'. so step up and be a real American.
Nice dodge.
Jones is exercising his first amendment rights by burning those books. I'm exercising mine by saying he's an idiot for doing so (and for NOT saying that we should adjust our laws so that he can't do that).
So there.
