Telling kids it’s ok if they are gay….

Why would this impact their ability to teach and have positive interactions with their students? And especially their "well being".... Did the "number of teachers" express their specific concerns?
I don't know any teacher...or parent... who thinks it's "trash"...or calls it the "don't say gay"... law...
If you have to ask this question, it’s very sad, and telling. I guess none of your students ever confided in you about their lives. They must have sensed your hostility.

Virginia...a blue state flipped to bright red because the far left Democrat Socialists did not want parental involvement in children's education.

Parents have the responsibility to teach their children about morality and religious beliefs.

These far left loons will flip the House and Senate as they try to teach six year olds about perversion.

Not a hater at all My golf partner for ten years was a lesbian. It was just not shoved down anyone's throat. People just be people.

It's so cute when you bigots play the "well, I'm not a racist/homophobe/bigot because my best friend's uncle's third cousin is ___."

How sad that you think a person refusing to stay in the closet is "shoving" it down everyone's throat. Worry about what goes on in your bedroom, if anything, and keep your self-righteous nose out of other people's.

What does the bill have to do with students confiding in their teachers? I think...well, actually, I know... you might get very surprising answers from my former students or athletes if you were to sit down and chat with them ...:) Talk about hostility...where did that come from? Gee...let me guess...;)

Nailed it.

The three actual teachers in my own family -- daughter, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law -- are upset about this type of hobbling legislation. It doesn't matter how often the typical Reichwinger whines that "parents should be the ones teaching kids about ___," in real life teachers very often stand in as surrogates for mom and dad on a daily basis. If a child appears to be depressed or distraught, is the teacher allowed to gently question them, or should she just pack them off to the school counselor? If a child starts bullying others and calling them gay slurs, should she just STFU and ignore it?

It comes from what I see you write about gay and trans children and nowhere else. It comes from my being a supporter of the LGTBQ community and teachers rights.

Indeed, TOP.

What do I write about gay and trans children that makes you think I would have been hostile to my students...or unwilling to have them confide in me...
Or that I don't support the LGTBTQI community or teachers rights? It has to be coming from somewhere else...

Exactly. It's right up there with the claim that "none of my black neighbors feel like they're oppressed" in discussions about profiling and discrimination. 1) No one goes around and ASKS "Hey, you're black, do you feel oppressed?" and 2) most ppl are very, very good at picking up clues regarding hostility and prejudice and tend to avoid any contact with those exhibiting such tendencies.

You couldn't have said it better. Thanks for making my point perfectly clear.

You spread and support the spread of hatred and division, TOP. This makes you an evil person hiding in the darkness away from the light of the Lord.

Do your neighbors know how evil you are?

Pay them no mind...those responses are obviously just personal (as you can see)...nothing to do with the actual bill...I posted a link to it...anyone can see what's included and what is not...

Agreed. It's an indicator of their ideology of fomenting fear of gays, minorities and anything else that challenges the status quo of heterosexual Euro-American male dominance.
