It’s just gone to the level of stupidity. Did you hear Rep. Mallory McMorrow, her speech was brilliant.
What did she say?
And have you seen this yet?

Now they call telling kids it’s okay to be gay “grooming”!
$20 says she doesn't even vote.
It's unlikely since (exc. during the pandemic) you have to leave the house to do so.

Yes, she nailed it.
Yes, she nailed it.
I can’t imagine any teacher supporting this. It’s a trash bill.So..no one has a problem with the Parental rights in Education Act bill...it is an excellent one...
(And just like that... another thread is mine...)
She will definitely be propelled in the ranks with this speech.McMorrow for president.

“NPR's Melissa Block spoke with a number of teachers across the state of Florida who are worried about the chilling effect this law may have on not just what they teach and speak about in the classroom, but how it affects their students' well-being.”

They are leaving their profession, so, I think it is. Trumpublicans hate teachers. The last six years I have seen them ridiculed and disdained on this board as well as IRT. It’s disgusting.Sounds like an excellent way to get educators to find other careers. Is that the hope?
I wonder something -- do you actually *know* any gay or trans people? My guess is not because they are very sensitive to haters and would be reluctant to reveal anything to a bigot like yourself.
I wonder something else as well. Do you think of yourself as a Christian? If so, do you think it's damaging to a child's mind to tell them that they were born into a state of sin and that they need to fix that by joining a particular religious cult, or risk hellfire? It's a recipe for lifelong guilt, depression, and self-loathing.
Why would this impact their ability to teach and have positive interactions with their students? And especially their "well being".... Did the "number of teachers" express their specific concerns?I can’t imagine any teacher supporting this. It’s a trash bill.
