Christina Pushaw, the press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), has come under fire after tweeting that anyone who opposes a bill banning schools from concealing students' sexual orientations from their parents and from teaching young children about sexual orientation and gender identity is "probably a groomer," Political Wire reports.
The Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network defines "grooming" as "manipulative behaviors" that a sexual "abuser uses to gain access to a potential victim, coerce them to agree to the abuse, and reduce the risk of being caught."
"The bill that liberals inaccurately call 'Don't Say Gay' would be more accurately described as an Anti-Grooming Bill," Pushaw wrote on Twitter.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it at all…as long as the kid calls the person telling him/her that it’s okay “mom” or “dad”. I also think there should be a lower age limit on it if the “kid” doesn’t mention it first. It would also not be inappropriate to mention it as part of “the talk”, without making a moral judgement either way. I found out about gay people the 9th grade in health class. It was hilarious and non-judgmental even 50 years ago.
Whatever. Just make sure that you remember Virginia from a political standpoint. You lost a lot of reliable jackasses in that election, a result of issues like this. You guys got real uppity in 2020, but when you cheat in an election, you don’t get a mandate.
