Teens dies after insurance company denies payment

WHy not sell the whole human being? Being against slavery is "being emotive in our politics". Utter rubbishness and disingenuousity.

Nope. Business should be conducted within an overarching moral framework. sorry.

Thats a lovely sentiment. Let us know when you are willing to work without compensation. Because that is what you are advocating in many cases.

The medical expertise of the Dr, the nurses, and the technical people must be paid for by someone. They are not going to waste their expensive education, drive to work, spend their day doing their job, and then drive home for the warm feelings that being moral will give them.

There are programs that can help uninsured people get medical treatment. But the treatment must be paid for by someone.

We need to go to a single payer system.

Nonsense. I've lived in the UK and Canada, both of which have single-payer health insurance, and this sort of thing happens all the time. But it's even worse when people have to wait for several months for a critical surgery. Many die while waiting. This impacts working and middle-class families the most, because they cannot afford to pay for medical services abroad. What makes you think the government is any more worthy of our trust than a corporation?

I still think business should be conducted inside a moral framework. I could be wrong on this case though. I didn't really read the details and was just spouting off in an uninformed fashion.

Do you believe kiddie porn should be legal? Or that if it's profitable, all americans should be put out of work?

Kiddie porn is illegal for a very good reason. And has no bearing on this topic.

If you want to make it so the US Gov't owns businesses, then all of the citizens of this nation will have a say in how it is run. But if a single person owns a business, who gives anyone else the right to tell him where he opens manufacturing plants?

My point was, from a moral standpoint, anyone who is ill should be given the best medical treatment available.

But the reality is, medical treatment must be paid for by someone. If one doesn't pay, then why should the rest? And if one doesn't pay and the rest are forced to pay pay for their, they will have to pay extra to cover the one who didn't pay. And if no one pays, the Drs, nurses, and support personnel don't get paid.
