Ted Cruz Tells Reporters "I'm a Christian First, American Second"

Please show me the post where I state what you claim. Cruz is free to have his priorities in whatever order he wishes, myself, my family is my first priority,

I am concerned about those Christians who are elected officials and put their religious beliefs before our laws and their duties to the people they serve.

You just repeated it, dim wit. Read the question in the first line and the answer in the second. Is it work to be a troll, or does it come naturally. I mean my God... LOL, pun intended

Kaz's lexicon; Troll = anyone who disagrees with him and can prove their point
Lol

There have been deeply religious President's who were able to separate church and State, as long as they do that, I don't have problem.

Deeply religious and fundamental are two different things.
For one thing fundamental has the word "mental" right in it.

And your another one......WHERE did I state that ALL the Founding Fathers were Christian ?

Pinheads like you are always mis-stating what others say and then jump up and down like you had a 'gotcha moment'

This is so on point of what her and Christie do! They recreate and restate the argument, then argue against their made up position and say it was yours.

Dear JPP Reader:

But for that block of some 80 million ostensibly 'Christian' voters, would this discussion arise?

IMT

That's why he thread bans Mott and yourself.

LOL, how do you get your head through doorways? Liberals, the most intelligent beings on earth. Just ask you.

I thread ban Mott because he thread banned me. He thread banned most people who would disagree with him, but they aren't my problem. If he wants to agree we don't do that to each other I'm in, but no one raised the point before.

I thread ban Leon because he started targeting me in threads following me around and posting endless asinine drivel to every post. Just general pointless shots at me. No thread content, no response to what I said, basically he started posting in thread after thread he hates me. While I disagree regularly with other leftists like you, Rune, Christie and we come across each other regularly, none of you target me. Just leon. I also gave him a chance and said to stop following me and targeting me. He amplified it. So bye bye.

Note there is no question mark on why I thread banned those two, I'm not asking your opinion. Just addressing your point

The Constitution requires "Equal Protection of the law" to all persons within the jurisdiction of the United States.

Allowing equal protection to homosexual persons in the area of marriage is considered by some to be against Christian Values.

This is an area where there could be conflict wherein I believe a Christian who believes its against his religion to allow such equal protection would have to be an American First to faithfully serve the United States.

As we know, and at least he is honest about it, while acting as president Cruz would chose what he believes to be Christian values before he would chose be an American on this issue.

So seriously, you think the only people who are qualified to be President are people who put the US government as the first priority in their lives? Dude, that's sick. Government should not be the object of worship in your life

when you stand in front of the people and swear that oath you place your entire life before the people.

You promise to do in THEIR stead.

You are there to represent THEM not your own self.

do you Understand Representative government

There are plenty of decisions in government where one can legitimately use their religious values to guide them in executing duties as a representative.

There are some where to do so would be contrary to the duties of the job. I think that a president who does not believe in the "establishment clause" would be unqualified because that clause represents a very basic and fundamental concept of how our Government is to be operated.

they think a representative is a mini dicator.

they want them to represent ONLY the people who voted for him and to heap scorn on the people in their district who didnt vote for them.

the republican party no longer believes in democracy and representative government

You do? Where is that in the oath of office?

What about Obama? He's in it for himself, he doesn't give a shit about the people, are you calling for his impeachment then?

It's absolutely hilarious that an Obama supporter would post that. Have you no shame? That's rhetorical, BTW

Seems to me everyone would say that very same thing.....their God comes before everything else.....

and you seem surprised or even offended by that.....

How many Christians have died at the hands of ISIS and their ilk, rather than convert to Muslim.

I wonder what Obama would say if ask that question.

I'm just going to go out on a limb and say, "Probably not as many Jews as died at the hands of Christians in JUST the first Crusade - to say nothing about throughout recorded history."

I'm sure that some of the people here won't find that comment relevant - which explains exactly what's wrong with them.

...but the question I put up was "what would be say comes first, his God of his country"...

If you're Constitutionally-minded, then your Country comes first.

This is akin to the argument about that Kim Davis creature.

When an official of the Government is performing their duty as an official of the Government, they may not do so from a religious position.

As an individual, they can do it all they want, but not when they're acting on behalf of the government.

If Ted Cruz - or anyone else, for that matter - can't separate the religion from the job, then they shouldn't be seeking or doing the job to begin with.
