Just how would you prosecute a 6 yr old? Does a child of that age have the mental capacity to understand what happens to a person that gets shot?

It is normal for this culture. It is genetic in nature. Normally this behavior starts to manifest itself around age 10, but you might say what we have here is an early bloomer.
 
I have been following this story. I am a gun owner and a strong advocate and supporter of the 2nd amendment and all that it grants. To me this is a clear case where the parents need some sort of charges brought against them…
 
so far, any information on the mother has been withheld from the public. wouldn't it be bonus points to find out that the mother was a member of moms demand action

The mother apparently owned the gun, not sure if that means she was raising the boy on her own.
