Can you imagine the outrage if Obama had betrayed the Kurds and handed them over to the Turks?
Can you imagine if Obama had abandoned Iraq and called ISIS Junior Varsity?

Trump is just doing what Vladimir, wants him to do.
pie in the sky.I've already explained my position.
Syrian Kurdistan would remain a part of Syria, like Iraqi Kurdistan is a part of Iraq, and be recognized in the Syrian Constitution.
"The Constitution of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria,[1][2] officially titled Charter of the Social Contract, is the provisional constitution of the self-proclaimed autonomous region of Syria known as the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. It was adopted on 29 January 2014, when the Democratic Union Party (PYD), claiming to represent the population of the autonomous region, declared the three regions it controls autonomous from the Syrian government.[1] Article 12 states the autonomous region remains an "integral part of Syria", tentatively implementing an expected future federal Syrian governance in Northern Syria.[3]
The constitution has gained much international attention and is most noted for its explicit affirmation of minority rights and gender equality and a form of direct democracy known as 'democratic confederalism'.[4][5]"

Trump surrendered the Kurds to the Turks overnight.
pie in the sky.
but I'm not talking abut a Kurdish state i'm talking about WHEN YOU WANT THE U.S. OUT OF SYRIA
*crickets*
"The Kurds were instrumental in our successful fight against ISIS, leaving them to die is a huge mistake." - Nikki Haley.
no he didn't
let's see some proof of that
Trump sent the White Flag into SYRIA today, and left our allies to fight alone.
pie in the sky.

that's clear i give you that.I don't know how I can state my answer ANY clearer.
Assad wants his Syria back in one piece.
Russia wants a Syrian Base.
Syrian Kurdistan (land east of the Euphrates) wants an autonomous region for themselves.
All can be accomplished with an arrangement like that in Iraq. The Kurdish region 'recognized' in the Syrian Constitution.
Once THAT is in place, the Americans can leave.
^so much for an autonomous region.."An official with the main Kurdish-led force in Syria said on Sunday the Kurdish people were not represented on the constitutional committee in charge of drafting a new Syrian constitution."
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/09/syrian-kurds-criticise-envoy-committee-190929161609096.html
"His comments came in light of a UN document released on Saturday showing in addition to amending Syria's current constitution or writing a new one, the committee was mandated to organise "free-and-fair elections" in the country under the supervision of the world body once the constitution was drafted."
"A first meeting of the committee, which took almost two years to negotiate, has been scheduled for October 30 in Geneva."
that's clear i give you that.
So you want us to nation-build like we did in Afghanistan.. clearly that is a bad idea
Syria is a basket case -simply declaring an autonomous region doesn't make it so .
what do you want to do when Iran doesn't want to leave? that is their sphere of influence
Plus you got Turkey absolutely opposed and will never let the Kurds be autonomous
when that happens -what happens to our troops there?
^so much for an autonomous region..
I actually agree the Kurds deserve a full state -but they won't get it and an autonomous zone isn't enforceable either
Cowardly chicken shit Cadet Bone Spurs, lap dog of dictators and autocrats, shows his supine yellow belly once again and abandons allies of the USA.
Because the Peshmerga filled in the power gap when the Iraqi's left.Did you say the same thing when Iraqi Kurdistan wanted an autonomous region?
"Iraqi Kurdistan or Southern Kurdistan[1] (Kurdish: باشووری کوردستان, romanized: Başûrê Kurdistanê) is the Kurdish-populated region incorporated into Iraq and considered by Kurds as one of four parts of Greater Kurdistan.[2] Much of the geographical and cultural region of Iraqi Kurdistan is governed by the Kurdistan Region (KRI) (Kurdish: هه*رێمی کوردستان, romanized: Herêmî Kurdistan) which is an autonomous region recognized by the Iraqi constitution.[3]"

Dukkha. You don't have to re-invent the wheel here. It's already a functioning Reality in neighboring Iraq.
Can you imagine the outrage if Obama had betrayed the Kurds and handed them over to the Turks?
it's a non-starter. I give you credit for thinking of it, but Syria isn't capable of keeping an autonomous zone if both Iran and Turkey dont want it ( and they dont)hahaha ...
You are very negative. This isn't difficult to solve.
I'll let you take the side of the Authoritarians and list all the things that can never happen.
--->Couldn't have said it better<---
Because the Peshmerga filled in the power gap when the Iraqi's left.
I don't know if there is a written agreement in Iraq ( Constitution), but the problem AS ALWAYS is Turkey is hostile to ANY Kurds self government.
Plus you have the Iranians who want an unstable Syria -that allows them to fill the power vacuum
with their Quds.
I mean go for it if you can ever get a stable region backed by the players - but that is not what we are doing in Syria and not going to happen with the small fore we had their until today. The US can't do anything but be a sitting duck
