There has to be something to do w/ Christ and what Christ's message was in the belief system. It is, after all, CHRISTianity.

But, there are a variety of sources for that. Dixie is saying no - you have to believe the Bible word-for-word, or you're not a Christian, no matter what.

I'm not "designating" anyone a Christian who doesn't already call themselves a Christian & believe in Christ in some way. Obviously, if someone worships the devil or something & calls themselves a "Christian," that pronouncement deserves some scrutiny. But you have to go to some extremes, as you did above, to get there. Try to discuss the topic honestly, instead.

The Church, since its birth has subscribed to the whole council and history of God- as taught and instructed from bot the OT and NT. Any and all sects, that arise and deny this in any way, are considered heretical.

There are many sects & groups under the umbrella of Christianity. If any are heretical, it's because a "church" declares them to be; not Christ or God.

Do you believe that anyone who doesn't take a literal interpretation of the OT & NT, and believe every word written, cannot be a Christian?

And you're trying to equate that to my defending the right of someone who doesn't believe exactly as Dixie does to call themselves a Christian.

I'm being extraordinarily patient with you. As I said, you have to go to way-out extremes to prove whatever point you're trying to make.

I'm not doing anything close to what Dixie is doing. I'm not setting up restrictions on what the criteria are to be a Christian based on my own rigid, singular belief system. I'm respecting the rights of others.

It's amazing that you think what I'm doing is the "exact same" as Dixie. It's like you're attempt to compare Libya to Iraq. Ideological, but not logical.

that is exactly what dixie is doing. saying that based on their beliefs, they are not christian. you are saying the same thing, although you're tapdancing around it.
