Yeah, and the socialist programs that create the moral hazards are the problem. I have no interest in making socialism work. If the immigrants come and expose the problems of overburdening the productive by making them responsible for the welfare of the unproductive, great! Hopefully, people will wake up to the fact that cradle to grave welfare systems create these pitfalls.
That's not to say you cannot have any welfare system. A small social safety net is probably unavoidable and may be more efficient. But even that creates danger and we should be mindful of it.
I don't see any reason why I should resent immigrants feeding at the public trough any more than a citizen. Again, you are not my brother. I feel no obligation to support anyone else simply because of their place of birth. Any empathy I feel for their problems is chosen by me. And I tend to feel a bit more empathy for some person who grew up in a shithole where they did not have the benefits of the rule of law, to allow them to grow, over some fucking little bitch who complains about how he can't get a job because he is white and the Jews are keeping him down.
The hurdles many immigrants faced in their homeland are real and all encompassing, while you have to invent monsters to excuse your failures. They seek opportunity that comes from being free, while you demand entitlements paid for by others.
Your entire world view is colored by your socialist/nationalist sense of entitlement. You believe the sweat of your immigrant ancestors gives you rights they did not enjoy, while denying new immigrants even the rights they did enjoy. You have no more or less rights than they did. They likely came to enjoy the pursuit of happiness while you demand happiness be provided to you. If they were virtuous, hard working and only sought the opportunity to be productive, then you are a disgrace to their memory.
