Strong Alaskan Unions

Unions negotiate with management on behalf of their workers. That does not happen in real estate.

The Association negotiate for things that increase their earning potential, like the first time home buyers program.

This is the argument that is always used, it is just a pig with lipstick. It is a group coming together, paying dues to have someone lobby for their agenda. Sometimes it is the government and sometimes it is the management. It cracks me up that people twist and turn trying to make the two seem different and what of the AMA?

Every industry has lobbyists. That doesn't mean the employees are union workers or members. Someone working on full commission who can be fired at any time is not in a union even if their industry has a lobbying unit. Tech companies belong to groups that lobby Washington but that doesn't mean employees with stock options and low salaries can't be fired at any time. They are nowhere near the same.

I'm not familiar with the AMA.
