The president answered back, “Stand up and show them: We will not cut Social Security! We will not cut Medicare!”

As Republicans continued to protest his accusations, he said, “We’ve got unanimity.”

It was a highly divisive moment. It was Joke openly attacking the opposition party even as he tried several times to claim to want to work with them. Doing it with a bald-faced lie didn't bolster his position or argument.
