It's always seemed to me that this inability to figure the deal with race, power, control, subjugation and colonization is in inherent to the eurocentric perceptual reality arising from a misgiven superiority complex. They honestly cannot understand why anyone would not take to being ruled over by a eurocentric authoritarian power structure, they submitted after all, long ago. The tribes of Europe were beaten and slaughtered into submission over centuries into becoming "civilized", subservient, and quiescent subjects to capital and authority which are necessarily intertwined in any eurocentric social construct, certainly of the day. That's what The Inquisition was for; to alter the perceptual reality of the tribes of Europe by the union at that time of church and state into one authoritarian power structure.
By the time the 1500's rolled around, Europe was so racked by syphilis that the aristocracy took to wearing powdered wigs to attempt to hide the ravages of syphilitic hair loss, and the befuddled masses waddled along after creating the fashion, so easily led were they. Swallow-n-follow was already well entrenched behaviorally long before all the empty platitudes of what would become the empty rhetoric of american liberty, independence, equality, representation and fweedumb.
And when they rolled out across the planet to slaughter still more people and take more lands and resources for their God, gluttony, they deemed themselves the rightful Gods of all they “discovered” having long since lost the concept of what it meant to be a human being, so surely none of these other humans were. And their God was now envisioned in human form, and they were gods, all was beneath them.
Then you have these pseudo intellectual white supremacist apologists like Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris running around doing their bit to fecklessly attempt a circular explanation for societal outcomes that rests ultimately upon an updated version of social Darwinism and the infallibility of positive feedback loops. Takes quite a bit of contortionism to swallow that, but folks like it, it's comfortable and feels nice to avoid introspection and challenge. Why, the hierarchy is natural.
