Something I don't understand, and no one has yet to explain it, what is the point

The name "Democratic Party", with its awful history, should be retired. Just hearing or reading that Party name offends me.

The statues are NOT there to honor slavery OR the Democratic Party that fought to preserve it.

It's fun to be spiteful toward the south. After all, the CSA killed more than 400k Americans in the War of Southern Stupidity. Tearing down the statues of worthless southern traitors is just a fun exercise in showing a conquered people how they lost. I don't really consider southerners to be real Americans, because, they are only part of the US by virtue of being conquered and subjugated.

Racists like to try and pretend the Civil War WASN'T about slavery, but supporting slavery and wanting to keep their slaves was the primary reason the South seceded.

I find it amazing just how many supposed "patriots" try and pretend otherwise.

It should not be erased, but it also should not be honored. There are places for such statues, in museum's but not in places of honor.

define places of honor. in england there are statues of people who fought and lost plenty including Cromwell and King Charles in what most would consider places of honor not museums

1) I dont give a shit about England and how they do it.
2) State Houses, Capitols, Government Property, the National Mall, Court Houses are all places of honor.
