Someone is panicked!

They know, Trump is about 2 seconds from declaring victory, taking his toys and going home. He will leave a huge mess behind him that will affect the global economy for a long time.

You're correct. Anything (like the pandemic) that fucks up global markets takes a long time to return to its previous state. This one was purely avoidable and the results fall 100% on Trump.

Trump doesn't get to unilaterally decide when his war ends.

Now that he's started it and now that Trump has created an even more hardline Iranian government, they get to decide when American-affliated shipping gets to pass through the strait. Short of a Trumpian invasion of Iran to control the strait, Iran is going to extract a concession from Trump to open the strait.

Good point. And since he dragged Israel into it, I'm sure that they will have something to say about ending it, too.

He's TACOing again after a weekend of being hammered by his rich buddies who watched their portfolios crash and burn last week. As soon as Wall Street figures out this is just more bullshit, it'll tank again and oil will skyrocket. *sigh*
Well gas is up another couple of cents today
Current Avg. $3.977 $4.485 $4.853 $5.345 $3.150
Yesterday Avg. $3.956 $4.460 $4.829 $5.285 $3.139
Week Ago Avg. $3.790 $4.299 $4.664 $5.044 $2.990
Month Ago Avg. $2.951 $3.459 $3.826 $3.727 $2.299
Year Ago Avg. $3.128 $3.586 $3.947 $3.584 $2.588
highest recorded average price

And when these increases get passed on to the consumer the price of everything will be going up.
It is just a matter of time.

Our good standing in the world and the world economies? The Philippines have declared an energy emergency. It’s going to be hell on all the mainlands, but island nations are really going to be hurting.

I didn't know that about the Philippines. Damn. He's torturing Cuba currently too.

Fucking bully. He's made us one of the world's most hated nations. :(

Iran has got Crazy Trump over a barrel; I'm sure that they know that Crazy Trump has bitten off more than he can chew, and as a result he has got some serious political problems at home.

Mortgage rates jumped again, too. So now we are approaching the time of year when people look to buy/sell homes, and go on vacations. Both are going to cost more than they did this time last year, or the year before.

November looks pretty ugly for the Republikkkans. I can't say that makes me sad at all. It's time for regime change in America, before it's too late.

My friend went to Bush airport yesterday, four hours ahead of her flight, she was in line for six hours and missed her flight. I’m glad I’m not flying to Alaska till May. I hope DonOld figures it out by then!

It was on BBC News. You have to watch foreign news to get any truth.

How sadly true. NBC News, which we watch every evening, has turned into more of a tabloid thing, like CNN did years ago.. I really don't care about some drunk kid who went on spring break to Spain and got himself drowned, but they spent 3 days on that story. I also don't care that there's no more news about the disappearance of some talk show host's mom, which they spent literally WEEKs covering. I also don't care that some family is outraged that their attractive White daughter was allegedly murdered by an "illegal," ala typical Fox reporting. Attractive girls of all hues are murdered every single day in this country, mostly by family or boyfriends yet we never hear about them unless they're 1) White, and 2) killed by a non-White person.

If you have any suggestions for a news program that covers global and national events w/o the tabloid stuff, please enlighten me!

I was just reading in the morning news some people in the stock markets are afraid oil might go as high as $200 a barrel , and are getting very nervous.

only on imports.

we have all the natural resources we could ever need.

we don't have to be dependant.
What?
We consume about 20 MBPD of oil and only produce something like 13.4 MBPD.
we need to import over 7 MBPD just to over our demand.
And increased tariffs on oil / gas/ fuel will drive up the cost of everything you buy.
Again if you bought it at some time it was on a truck and truckers aren't going to be able to et these costs and will have to pass them on .
