Even if you aren't actually serious about using nuclear weapons, you are obviously not sane or rational enough to even be talking about this situation.

The frightening thing is that trump is obviously also not sane or rational enough to be the one to make the decision.

This is the nature of asymmetrical warfare AKA terrorism; merely expressing a viable threat is enough to generate results.

Most nations, especially democratic ones, are responsible to their people. Illiberal nations are not. Iran is a dictatorial theocracy with 45 years of being backed by a radical and well-funded Islamic militancy. They have nothing to lose if facing collapse and will take down all the major ME oil countries with them if necessary.

There is no negotiating with terrorists. Like fire ants, they can't be eliminated, only controlled. Trump has effectively removed the controls and then started a war with them. This will not end well for us or anyone else.

IMO, the only exit strategy is to remove Trump from office and backing away from the problem to let it cool down.
